I wish they would treat ROH as something special, apart from AEW. But, they just keep bringing them into an already packed AEW roster. Are they part of ROH, or AEW? Every title from ROH contended on AEW programming? I get that was necessary in the beginning, but it's really time they get things going on their own, their own branding, as an alternative to the alternative.
@martinputt6421

Strange thing is they have their own weekly show online and their own PPV's too so they don't need to feature on AEW programming. Not sure why Tony Khan keeps putting them on AEW tv.

@@RageyRage82 Absolutely. Crossovers every now and then are fine but when you've got ROH stuff happening on AEW tv it takes time away from other AEW storylines and matches. They should be treated as completely separate entities.

As much as I love aew these stories that keep coming out about how business is done really shows that Tony is in over his head with how much he is doing on a consistent basis. He's overloading himself causing everything he's doing to suffer in the long run. He needs help doing this, now more blatantly than ever.

I get it that Tony Khan wants people to subscribe to HonorClub, but I really don't get how locking the weekly episodes behind a paywall is gonna help the brand get more eyes. I also definitely think they need to both AEW & RoH separate since right now, Athena & Billie Starks are the only champions that wrestles exclusively on RoH where as most of the other champions do appear on AEW TV.

It would be weird to see Dustin leave AEW. He puts a lot into his school and in backstage coach stuff with young talent, Abadon has especially praised him. TBH i think if WWE asked they’d let Dustin go do the HoF no problem like they did with Billy Gunn.

Hopefully Dustin will leave AEW, imagine Dustin in WWE's NXT working alongside HBK and teaching the younger talent with his psychology in the ring. We all know the AEW talent isn't listening to the experts and those who pathed the way before them (look at Hangnail).

I'm sure there is a reason this cant happen, but why not use one of the three AEW shows and rebrand it for ROH. Make it exclusively its own brand with its own wrestlers and its own storylines and keep their roster isolated from AEW for a good while. I understand this is far too easy a solution, im sure theres some corporate reason this cant happen, but itd solve a lot of problems.

Me personally I would love for Dustin to go back to WWE. I would love for him to keep his current gimmick that he has in AEW. There’s a couple of stories to be told in WWE if he sheds to Goldust gimmick and have a run as Dustin Rhodes. I think the keen matchup I have for him is against Cody Rhodes for the WWE Title. If I were to fantasy book the match I would have it as the main event at Wrestlemania or something of that nature.

I genuinely think it's better for Dustin to finish up his career in AEW at the moment. Obviously the temptation is there to say "he should be with his brother", but if he goes back to WWE for one last run he's just going to get dragged into storylines surrounding Cody, when he's earnt the right to retire on his own merit.

Cody is a hell of a politician but the truth is pretty simple, and similar to his dad. He wanted to run the place his way, Tony said no, and he buggered off back to WWE and played it like it was his idea. I think Cody is great, but his booking on AEW was not great a lot of the time. It’s easy to read between the lines when the guy who made the bet that created All In and basically started AEW from that. Him and Tony couldn’t gel on direction, and Tony owns the place, end of story.

Thing is, aew isn't serious business, and Cody was and wanted to ascend as a serious wrestler. That's not a knock on aew, not every wrestling company has to be a serious business, and it decided not to be, so he knew it wasn't the right place for him, as did Punk later. Aew is a passion project, nothing else. Business is not the priority.

Of course. He was literally ALL IN on the company, but his new friends all had Indy sensibilities while he was used to being in a big promotion where his goal was to do big business. The Elite don't care about doing big business, they just want a fun place to work, being paid well is a bonus. Who knows if them and various other people in the promotion would have gone to wwe for the money by now if aew wasn't a thing, but they have a situation where they don't have to go somewhere for the money, they have found a place that isn't about the money that pays just as well as the place for the money pays. When aew came in to existence they were happy for years doing the things they did and with how much they were getting for them. Cody went on the indys to get away from the brick wall with the intent to come back one day. Then when aew came in to existence, he thought he wouldn't even have to. But the elite (and Tony) and him parted, they were happy just enjoying themselves, while he wanted to be at the top of a serious wrestling promotion. He got his wish in the end anyway so everyone's all good mostly.

Cody is completely out of touch with reality and blaming the fans for how his aew career ended is peak delusion. The ONLY person to blame for how his AEW career ended is himself. Let me take you back to Full Gear 2019. Cody was challenging for the AEW title and promised that if he didn’t win, he would never challenge for the title again. Cody then lost. This made literally everything he did in AEW after that pointless. Imagine if before WM39 Cody promised to never challenge for the title again if he lost. It would have made everything he did in the build up to WM40 pointless. The feud with Brock, The Bloodline, War Games, The Rumble, all of it would not have an end goal. AEW fans desperately wanted Cody to turn heel and break his promise so that his matches would have a meaning again. AEW fans wanted to cheer for Cody, but Cody absolutely refused to give the fans anything to cheer for. The only person to blame is Cody. Period.

Aew fans are a fickle bunch, believe everything the rumour mongers want them to believe. People had a great time for decades tugging themselves off at how Triple H was "the secret baddy" in the backstage of wrestling politics. They adored it. Within a few months of aew starting up, they decided that Cody was going to be THEIR Triple H figure. So Cody was made Triple H because he was different from the rest and he had a very hot wife too.

I don't know why people bring this up so much lmao. It's like we've never seen wrestling before. "Cody restricted himself". Vince McMahon got ejected from being a tv presence at Fully Loaded 99 and in 2 months was back completely. Macho Man was retired by Ultimate Warrior. Came back 8 months later. Mick Foley was retired by Triple H. Came back 4 years later, then again, and again and again. They could easily wrangle up some bs reason he could get a title shot lmao. Its hard to believe Cody because of the backhanded comments he made about WWE after his departure. I understand Vince isn't running the show anymore so it would seem like a great excuse to come back, but Cody passively took shots a HHH also after his departure. I think there is more to his reason of leaving. I don't buy that the fans pushed him and made him feel unwanted.
