100% it ain’t WCW if most of the people who were originally there can’t be on it, and would only make sense as a kind of brand split but we already have that. I would be interested if someone kayfabe had brought the rights to it maybe Cody and were going to restart it and steal triple Hs talent, then he goes around trying to convince starts to turn on wwe. Obv I haven’t thought of how they would deal with explaining contractual issues when people jump ship but an invasion-esque type deal. Kind of like when NXT invaded just with all the people who buy into his promises of being the top guys on his new show, then we line it up for the next survivor series but this time have wcw win to solidify the new brand, play it like he managed to actually poach their best stars

I had no problem with Cody in AEW. It’s just his stories were garbage. In WWE, he is Cody Rhodes. Just that. In AEW he was the leader of the Nightmare Family and had the team/school called the Nightmare Factory and they were travelling with the Nightmare Express and his wife was the leader of the Nightmare Collective. Sounds like he was Batman in a Bat Cave with his Batmobile with his Batgirl

I side with the fans on that one, Homelander Cody was money. Cody was stale in AEW considering his opponents, Sammy, Ogogo, etc weren't that good on promos so the only way they can make it interesting is the wrestling. Seeing Cody being the underdog overcoming adversities gets stale if there weren't any stories built for the match.

A wcw revival wouldn't be hard to pull off. A.J Styles was in wcw. Film it at center stage like Saturday night was. Charlotte Flair, Bron Breaker, A.J with the Club, Pillman Jr, Paul Ellering with AOP. Free agents like Brock Anderson with Arn, the Koloff Dynasty with Nikita. Use the T.V. title as the mid card belt. build up a cruiserweight division. Etc etc. But I am probably crazy and wrong for putting this much thought into it.

I am hopeful Triple H & TKO will treat WCW better than Vince did. I always thought it and ECW could be brought back as long as they were different from what WWE was doing. WCW should be more sports based with less soap opera style storylines. ECW should be aloud to be hardcore because there’s still an audience for that. Both should utilize smaller arenas & towns maybe even be regional based to start but if they go the regional route both need to stay in their original regions at least to begin with. WCW in the southeast, ECW in the northeast.

Hindsight is 20/20. I found it so strange when Cody exited AEW. He was the one who got me into the AEW hype as I’ve watched all three Rhodes and Dustin was one of my favorites back in the WCW early 90s as the Natural. I remembered Young Bucks from some years back in TNA, but as Generation Me (ehhh, merch freak?) I don’t get the hype…(crickets) maybe I’m old, I dunno. 😂 I “bought in” for the member berries of Pro Wrestling back on TBS. Fast forward. CM Punk kept me tuned in after Cody exited. Punk was the draw, as well as Joe, Brian, Christian, etc, but with a star like Punk they had a chance to build a mainstream audience, with classic Punk comeback, but we know how that story played out. Now, I think Cody made one of the smartest, professional decisions in this modern wrestling era (hindsight). The honeymoon period began to fade on the new fling known as AEW. That being said, i like all pro wrestling if it’s pro wrestling. So, I truly do want AEW to succeed. Active wrestlers shouldn’t be EVP’s as it’s stepping on your own “gimmick.” It’s ridiculous to even consider it for a company to grow. It’s toxic. No matter how cool and friendly the folks backstage are to one another. At the end of the day. It’s a business. Triple H said some time ago, “it’s a marathon, not a sprint.” Hindsight. And that my friends is why WWE is on fire as of lately. A retired wrestler booking wrestling. It’s story telling. Less is more. Slow down. Why do I care if these two guys are fighting? Love him or hate him, ‘ole Corny is right. I’m all for great matches. Five star matches are beginning to be watered down on its “this is awesome” over saturation, imho. I don’t get why a wrestling fan wouldn’t want to share the joy of wrestling with others instead of “hoarding it” as a niche members only jacket club. And no, I’m not the “they took our “wrasslin” job…guys. haha Good day!

Even though it failed, I think bringing ECW back would make more sense, because that had its own identity, and Vince isn't around to ruin it. In fact I would trust HHH to let someone build an ECW in its own image. However WCW returning would probably just feel like a 4th WWE show more than its own venture. Hope Ripley comes back soon, WWE needs her, too many Women on their roster just do not have her presence, love or hate her.

As an AEW fan I never understood why other fans had issues with Cody when he was in AEW. I never disliked him like I will always dislike Cena. For me I can't explain why I don't like Cena, other then his presence always felt insincere and forced. As though he didn't just have something to prove but that he was a company shill.
