As of right now, Cody remaining babyface in WWE makes more sense than turning him heel. In AEW, it made way more sense for him to be a heel because it would justify how he booked himself in matches(often Isolated in the "Cody-verse" feeling seperate from everythingelse on the show), and it would counteract his promise he made to not go after the main championship.

I’m one of those few people that want Cody Rhodes to go heel. The main reason is I believe his NJPW era was the best character work in his career

After Mania, I really want to see the seeds for the homelander run

I genuinely believe that Cody should go heel because it would make his character better. It is like the tribal chief to an extent and honestly he's already an extension of that storyline already. To go heel is not really anything but scorched earth and Cody is right about that but it makes so much more intrigue into his character. Why is he doing the things he's doing, what's his motivations, where is he willing to make sacrifices for HIS greater good? Rather than THE greater good. Bright eyed Cody has been fine for his story but now that his story has been finished what is he going to do to keep his story intact? Was it enough to simply win the title or does he need to remain on the mountaintop for dear old dad? Will winning ever be enough?

If Cody turns heel he needs to do similar work to what he did in AEW and people wanted him heel. He did things in storylines that made people believe it was heading in that direction but apparently it was never supposed to be heel stuff just maybe grittier or ruthless. Ospreay wanting to put Swerve over is great...but the issue comes down to Swerve's booking ahead of Ospreay. After winning the title, Swerve went on to have competitive matches with the likes of Kyle Fletcher, Claudio, Brian Cage, Christian Cage, and Roderick Strong. And nothing against the talent of those competitors, but THEIR booking wasn't that strong prior to facing Swerve, which makes Swerve look weak when he has to (or chooses to) be competitive with them. There are two options: Either BUILD the talent up to make them feel credible so that a competitive match is warranted OR Do a 10 minute match where the opponent gets in some offense, but is ultimately no match for the Champion. Ospreay putting over Swerve doesn't do much to wipe away the prior booking and if Swerve continues to have competitive matches with lower mid-card acts, the victory over Ospreay does nothing.

Fans trying to change Cody heel is a challenge to see if he can rise to the occasion.

It would be great if Champ Cody did the Homelander thing, turned heel, and became a worse problem then Roman Reigns as the Tribal Chief. Turn Roman face to conquer the problem he created. Maybe he would actually get over with the fans. I don’t see either of them wrestling much longer though.

Cody is a good face, but he's a brilliant heel. Heel Cody was who we fell in love with when he left WWE. It why he was getting "booed" in AEW. We weren't turning on him. We were trying to summon The Nightmare.

I wouldn’t do Cody vs Rock at mania 41. Instead I’d do Roman vs Rock at mania 41(Rock wins therefore new bloodline wins), and Cody vs Rock at summerslam. Idk how long we have the Rock in the ring for, and I feel like THE DREAM MATCH needs to happen at mania, as soon as possible. My idea works, and if the Rick is available after summerslam you could do a rematch at mania 42.

I’d have Roman return & reunite with the Uso’s to face off with Solo’s version of The Bloodline. Then the Rock returns to unite both groups. That’s when Cody turns heel attacking The Rock.

There’s plenty of things that Cody can do to turn heel that don’t involve him scorching the Earth. Not being able to accept a clean loss, having a sense of entitlement, accepting favorable booking to the point where fans question the fairness of it, coming off as too snooty and pretentious, being a roadblock to an up and coming babyface. It’s an attitude like this that makes me feel Cody can turn heel and seemingly be the last one to know…kinda like he did in AEW.

The internet loves heels. That’s why some people hate Cody and Sami.
