It was Cody's plan the whole time. There's a reason why he lost to Jericho and never went after the AEW Championship. It was to let the rest of the roster go ahead of him and not feel like he was holding the talent back. Plus, it fits the promise he kept to the fans when he broke the throne at Double or Nothing which was he would never use his executive position to book himself in winning the top belt in the company. It had nothing to do with taking a shot at Triple H but instead Cody Rhodes told everyone that he wouldn't use his influence like Triple H did in WWE to get his way to the top of the company.

I hate how bland RTE is and no matter what choices they give you, they mean nothing. Someone wrote that up btw....someone made anyone you play as seem like a complete idiot for agreeing or disagreeing.
