To find the relationship betweenforce of limiting friction and normal reaction,between a blockand a horizontal surface, and hence find the coefficient of friction between the block and the horizontal surface.

Actually you start by adding small weights gradually and tapping on the wooden board so that it slowly starts to move

That is when you want to fing the coefficient of kinetic friction, when u are looking for static friction, you have to just keep adding masses
