@@ruly8153 Fargo followed closely by O Brother, Miller's Crossing, The Man Who Wasn't There, Hudsucker Proxy. Very hard to choose as they are all so different.

Rod Daniels Ya most directors just have one or two standout films but the Coens have so many. I’m in between The big lebowski and no country for old men, then o brother, then Fargo Haven’t seen a few of them

@@ruly8153 you're spot on with that comment. Their films are so diverse it's hard to choose, they each have their unique flavour. I've seen them all and have watched most of them several times. Can't wait for their next offering of Macbeth next year.

Frances said she can’t wait to see what script she’ll get when she’s 65... Hang on! It’s now 2021 and Nomadland! Congratulations Frances!!!

I believe she wants to see what roles they continue to write for her lol but your point remains. Joel adapted the role of Lady Macbeth for her so I can’t wait to watch her and Denzel together. She just gets better with age and her performance is Nomadland was fearless and phenomenal. I love how she’s an iconic actress but never went Hollywood. She’s all about the work and it shows in her performances

I love how meta this is watching it now... eg the coens saying it’ll be ages before digital will be the status quo , or Frances mcdormand wondering what films they’ll be making when she’s 65 (which is now )

In my opinion, the finest filmmakers ever. Prove me wrong.
@alfonsogayman9699
@alfonsogayman9699 3 жыл бұрын
It’s Impossible to prove wrong or right because it’s your opinion which is fair. They are among the greatest filmmakers of all time and I love their work esp Fargo, true grit, miller’s crossing, Barton fink and Hudsucker proxy but I prefer Paul Thomas Anderson. He’s a supremely gifted story teller and his work speaks more closely to my interests. He is gifted at all aspects of filmmaking including writing, casting, cinematography etc ...he literally served as his own cinematographer on his last film Phantom thread. He consistently takes his actors up another level and brings out career best performances...see Daniel Day-Lewis, Adam Sandler, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Mark Wahlberg, Joaquin Phoenix, Vicky Krieps, and many more. Like I said I love The Coens, Wes Anderson, Martin Scorsese, Michael Mann, James Cameron, Ridley Scott, Nolan, Coogler, and Cuaron but PTA is my personal favorite

For being so brilliant Im amazed they didn't just shoot with an older black and white stock. The extra finished stock used doesn't fit the aesthetic.

A lot of European countries wanted a color copy. It was shot in color but Roger Deakins desaturated the film for The U.S. and other markets.
