I bought my coffee plant 8 years ago, when it was about 4 inches high, and not even knowing what kind of a plant it was. Last year in the Spring, I noticed these red beans on the plant! I googled it and sure enough: it was a coffee plant! I have replanted it twice, and it is now 6 foot tall, having grwon 7 new stems and takes up the entire corner of my living room by the east facing window. I've always given it tap water; it does lose leaves here and there, but I'm not worried because it's such a huge plant-family now. lol I hardly fertilized it, but now that it's getting older, I'll definitely take better care of it. :)

Well thank you! I live in a moist, temperate climate, with frosts and long winters, and for 3 years I've been on a crash course learning how to grow everything I can here ~ including coffee. This winter, i put my 3 year old coffee plants into the green house over winter, and they are coming through ok, not once had I thought of bringing them inside... it's a much nicer idea, and the bathroom is perfect: humid warm, and sorely in need of some plants! I'll grow them on and enjoy them inside, then plant them into large pots in the green house I haven't built yet to fruit. I needed to see this video to formulate a plan, so thanks again :)

I had my coffee plant in its original pot for a year and a half and it had been doing fine. Last november I decided to repot it, and now for the past few weeks it’s been looking brown and terrible. I went up 3-4 inches in pot size and I think that’s what did it. Also repotted during a cold month, rookie mistake! 😅 Thank you so much for this video! I’m hoping I can save it.

I agree regarding the point about the soil. I bought standard indoor plant soil, 5L bag for less than one euro. And I see no difference whatsoever with my coffee plant growth. Just make sure that your pot has good drainage and if needed add some perlite to soil.

I just bought a coffee plant from a local store and there were 5 separate plants. I separated them out and put each in it's own container. I noticed that you have several in the same container, just as mine came from the store. I am wondering if I should have left them all together, or will they be fine separated? Is there a benefit to keeping them together?

im in NH and of course it's winter now. my coworker just gifted me one of his coffee plants and i adore it but i am so afraid i will kill the precious little thing. right now i have it on the plants table up against my big glass sliding door in an East/South direction. but we still go in and out that sliding door thru the winter. im worried the cold draft could bother it but ive always had plants on that table and they like it, i even have some 'desert' plants there. i wish i had room to maybe put the coffee plant in the bathroom, would that be a nice place since it gets very humid in there..?? i have other locations i could use. but also the sun is so low now in the winter and we have tall pine trees often blocking much of the low sun, so i think in the winter it definitely needs to be closer to a window. i have an east/south window in a room with no drafts where a couple plants already are. i been thinking of that as an option, but i often keep that entire floor on the cooler side to save money in winter. some of the leaves are still browned and crispy on the edges and most of the older 'trucks' seem to be splitting vertically like theres a water issue or something...? 😫 please dont die little plant

All my stem roots died...I have 2 stems left and they are so far surviving, and growing finally leaves, I had to move it to the window...against the sun, when it was on a table 1m away of the window. But the leaves never droop, it just turned brown, so that's why I never knew if it need it water, even after touching the soil... The rest of the stems I tried to put it in the water to see if roots would grow again but it failed. Now I downsized the plant to a small nursery
