That was a fun little bit. I assume this was from 1993, as Heston made a cameo in "Wayne's World 2" that year. He was a class act.

It's hard to believe this character is now 30 years old...and counting, of course! The thing I never understood was that "Coffee Talk" was neither about coffee...or talk! Was that ALSO a joke? Anyway, Linda Richman was just an absolute gift. If you were there? You know...you just know.

Always loved Linda RIchman. Mike Myer's best character IMHO. And although I wasn't in the same area of the political spectrum as Mr. Heston, I have always loved him as an actor. He ruled. "Planet of the Apes (1968)", "Soylent Green (1973)", "Touch of Evil (1958)", etc. He was a real screen presence.

Thanks SNL for posting these. I adore Mike Myers, even if he is from the GTA (Ottawa rivalry…Leaf’s suck 😂). Linda Richman / Coffee Talk was one of the Best Ever to come out of SNL. I wonder how many families adopted some of Linda’s Yiddish expressions into their lexicon. I come from a large, Catholic family and we say Verklempft all the time, because of Linda (mind you…Fiddler on the Roof was required watching in our family). I don’t know where Mike came up with this Character (being a Canadian boy from Scarborough) - must have absorbed her while living in NYC. I also totally relate to the adoration of Barbra Joan Streisand. A voice like buttah.

Linda Richman is a real person and was Mike's mother-in-law at that time (1993). He got divorced in 2006 and has remarried.

Saw an "Inside The Actor's Studio" years ago with Mike Myers. In the audience was his then-wife, Robin, along with her mother, one Linda Richman. She did look like this!

None other even though there aren't any credits of him on this show. It's ironic his intimacy with Myers who is Canadian American is a more private Democrat in contrast to Heston who converted to Republican after Nixon took office though he didn't change his political registration till '87. The party had changed directions not him. Still it was a well scripted comedy.
