As Sundanese. This a few information of Jaipong dance. Jaipong is one of tradisional dance from Sunda. We dont know exactly when it began. Maybe since Hindus Kingdom, so we got some ramayana story inside this dance. The diffrences of this dance to all of Indonesian traditional dance is Jaipong dance should be played with agile dancer with all the body movement like you said in former reaction. But the most emphasize part of body is the "hip". So man never be a jaipong dancer.😂 As I know when I saw this dance at first time the purpose of Jaipong dance is to entertain guest in tradisional wedding or ceremony. But this kinda problem because this dance has stereotype to semi erotical dance because of shape of women and her movement. So, the coreodance people nowadays wants to break that stigma, to see beautiful and meaningful of this Jaipong instrad of women body. One of them is Gugum Gumbira (man who coreo this new jaipong) success to bring this dance into beutifull dance like yo saw on the first reaction. Good reaction and opinion as always brother.
