Yes, finally Faouzia's version 🥰As far as I know, Faouzia always sings Desert Rose with just the piano, she did that in Abu Dhabi 3/4 years ago and also in Amsterdam 2022. Of course Sting's song with Cheb Mami remains the best for me, but Faouzia is my number 1 of Desert Rose cover singers.❤❤❤

Even after seeing it 30 times now (!) I still find it moving the way she makes it feel so emotional...you said "desperate" and I like that interpretation too. There's the moment towards the end where she effortlessly hits the high notes and they're so piercing and powerful...and then they cut to Yellow who probably thought he was in first place until Faouzia started singing...I think at that point he already felt like she was probably passing him and then she hits those notes and you see him shake his head as if he's thinking: "holy crap how can I compete with this"? I would tell him "you can't, she's out of this world" but it's no poor result to come second to a musical Goddess!

Of course there are many options to go on as she is brilliant, I personally love love "All Dressed Up" (Acoustic), because it is so raw and personal and incredibly beautiful, but it is a sad song, just her and a guy who really gets the emotion and accompanies her perfectly on a stripped acoustic guitar, recorded live and closeup in great quality, I think you can't get any closer to RAYE... But for an ecstatic hyped reaction probably her live from Royal Albert Hall Orchestra & Choir version of "Oscar Winning Tears" is definitely more of a banger, complete overwhelming greatness and an empowering, victorious song! So my proposal is either you react to OWT and watch ADU on your own, or, my dream dramaturgy: You react to both songs back to back, first the intimate, precious, vulnerable ADU in that 1:1 setting during the pandemic and before her breakthrough and big success, and then the triumphant big stage, big show, massive OWT... Both songs back to back bring maximum contrast and perfectly display RAYE's complete artistry and mastership... Peace and love from Bavaria!
