Want to be a better Systems Thinker?
You can learn the basics of DSRP in minutes and practice them for a lifetime. Watch this award-winning, short-film on DSRP and then start to ask the five questions (below) bout any topic, problem, or system.
Empirical research shows-with high statistical significance-that asking DSRP questions increases cognitive complexity. There are many more advanced questions from DSRP, but these are the best ones to get started doing systems thinking.
ABOUT CABRERA RESEARCH LAB:
Born at Cornell University, our research lab studies the problem that underlies all problems: thinking. We do basic and applied research, design innovative tools and technologies, and facilitate public understanding in order to better understand how to align mental models with real-world systems to decrease biases, make better decisions, solve wicked problems, and 'get it right' more often. Mental models guide our thinking and feeling; how are we building them: make distinctions between identities and objects via senses, organizing things into system of parts and whole, relationships of action & reaction, perspective from a point to a view; what is your perspective on life or systems, underlying structures..thinking of thinking..systems

Great video. I would add that your belief system is the result of the state of your nervous system or that the two are interconnected.

Agreed! If you find videos on Self Concept (ie. Dylan James CNS and Self Concept videos on KZfaq, Dr. Dispenza, KZfaq meditation community people like Neyah, etc), there are some really fascinating insights into the exact idea you're suggesting! From a systems-thinking perspective, our central nervous system is connected to the parts of our brains that control emotions and thoughts - this explains why stress leads to stress signals impacting the body physiologically. The biology of human anatomy and neuroscience is so interesting!!! Thanks for your comment, it encouraged me to think!

they have totally misinterpreted systems thinking. This not what Donella Meadows spoke of nor teach.

I see your point but I thought about it a little and I reckon Meadows talks about systems and this video is introducing systems thinking. Ironically, they are different elements of the same system 😊
