It's based on Cognitive *Psience* which is a made up field that is supposed to be less scientific and objective, so it's more akin to Depth Psychology

Cognitive Science: A branch of psychology that aims to figuratively find out how minds work without literally having to figure out how minds work. Not to be confused with 2nd generation cognitive science, which aims to literally figure out how minds work without figuring. 2nd Generation Cognitive Science: Coined by the linguist George Lakoff. In contrast to to 1st generation cognitive science, holds that behavior occurs primarily due to the influence of sensori-motor areas of the body, or 'embodiment'. Is there demand for these specialists ? Should I consider the field ? Do you end up working in academia or in Industry? Can you make your own business in this or you will have to work for a big company like Neuralink ?

cog sci specialties like human computer interaction design (HCID) are very high demand and high pay. Cog sci has a lot of different specialties definitely look into them if you're interested.
