This the first I've ever seen of an ExileCon. I have to say that THIS is how a Con should be. I've ever just dabbled in Path of Exile, but this event has really hammered home how much these developers love their game, and leads me to want to be a part of the community. Great video.

PoE lore is insane, I think it's totally worth listening to all the NPC's and lorebits at least once!

My 1st playthrough of poe is my fondest memory listening to all the lore talking to everyone.

I love their choices personally. The basic boring parts are more new friendly, but the core stat system is even more complex. People complain about it but that tree IS path of exile. It wouldn't be the same experience with it simplified. There are other games to handle that.

The wood elf in WH:Chaosbane as a spacebar dodge/roll with unlimited use. It's great. Super fun to play. Wolcen did it too, but with charges. D4 does it, but puts the most restrictions on it. Once, on a cooldown or twice on a cooldown if you have good boots.

I love that the card game they made JUST FOR ONE WEEK END is more thought out than most recent games. (looking at you D4...)

I've seen this explanation needed in multiple places, so I'll just put mine here: PoE is fast paced and PoE2 is more methodical. The reason they decided not just 'upgrade' PoE is because they feel completely different and serve two different needs in the ARPG space-- think Runescape and OSRS.

These are game directors, in Blizzard no chance the damn game director ever played D4. Also no damn cooldowns and unlimited dodge!!!

This act 3 boss has more and better mechanics than all d4 bosses combined. The best part... the hitboxes actually match the animation and you can roll dodge them here unlike d4.

This was great, thanks Cohh. I wanted to check out the new info on PoE2 and you're a great commentator for it. I stopped playing PoE after 1800 hours in solo self-found. After nerf upon nerf impaired essentially every build I tried. There were too few valid for the long term, too much focus/requirement on the meta, too much of a slog. Too much skill tree, too much of a need for using build guides, too many builds that needed just the right gear that never dropped or came out of craft RNG. After seeing the trailer and the gameplay demo the new PoE certainly looks good but I feel no pull to go back. I'm actually having a lot more fun after 200 hours in the Last Epoch beta than I ever had with PoE. Between LE, finally trying Grim Dawn, and BG3 (and hopefully later Avowed?) I have enough stuff on my plate I know I'll actually enjoy for a long time.

They fully intend to use most of the POE 1 leagues in POE 2. As for helping new players... POE asks you to use your brain and its a good thing, far more games should demand some IQ from its player.

I think Cohh is right that PoE2 being separate from PoE is going to be better for new players, but the problem is that they're going to fracture their player base. I'm also not sure that GGG will be able to keep making content for both games without sacrificing quality. I'm sure GGG intends to keep both games going right now, but it wouldn't surprise me if support for PoE gets phased out over the few years after PoE2 launches.

Game looks good however I wish the environments would react to your actions. Say what you will about D4 but it was very satisfying to see the grass etc move based on your movement / actions.

while diablo devs learned nothing from d2 and d3 and even took a step backwards in d4...the poe devs learned and make it just better...i regret not starting poe 1 when it came out but poe 2 is so promising

Honestly once you get into POE2 I just cant see many people going back to POE1. Then if you play POE2 and don't like it and think its just to slow I doubt you will be playing it again if POE1 is still about. If they keep all the animations etc in POE1 its going to be rough going back and fourth.

i also have the anticipation sucky ness, had it since they reveled poe2. i refused to play poe1 with out the new dedicated interface for skill gems, becuase i always hated skill gems being in weapons and armor. skill gems in armor and weapons is the biggest new player killer in any game. i have had friends drop weapons and armor with fully leveled skill gems, and have no idea where there skills went, that will not happen any more with poe2. the skill gem system in poe1 is harder to understand then most people think. if poe1 does not get the new system i will never play it again. i will play poe2 though. im not a new player i have played this game for years, and the worst part of the game was my friends quitting the game for hard core systems that are hard to understand.

I don't think PoE2 is why you think the new league looks bad. Its pretty shit imo. A lot of the ideas in it are really cool. The mechanic itself is really bad. Again, just my opinion. But if I wanted to play an auto battler I would. Not to mention very few leagues that take the player out of the actual game to do it haven't been all that great in general. Everything else they showed was awesome.

I still this PoE 2 is going to be WAY friendlier to new players. I don't mind a bit of complexity to gain a massive amount of depth. But I'd much rather that complexity involve where to allocate my weapon swap skill tree points and how to effectively use my abilities in combat instead of stumbling over antiquated league mechanics and the intentionally obtuse crafting and currency designs from PoE 1.

Boss has too much health. I hate that in ARPGs. Why can they one (or two, or three) shot me, yet I have to hit them 1000 times?

The only disappointment is them deciding to split the Dev team instead of purely focusing on POE2

POE is already overwhelmingly confusing and nearly impossible for new players to thrive in who are of average intelligence. League mechanics, crafting, builds, currency, and endgame require way, way, way too much of a time investment to learn from poorly created super long/boring/confusing/ADHD medicated endless multi part player guides/videos. Why make POE2 so challenging to play as well? I watched all the best players at ExileCon get their asses handed to them. If it was that tough for them then what about the average to below average players? You have a great looking product in POE2 that appears to be too difficult for me and millions like me to enjoy.

PoE is a blatant ripoff of the Diablo games, but they do it SO.WELL.! I am super excited for this game. The changes and additions look amazing.
