For those who did not understand what is going on this video, here's a brief explanation: The sound really comes from the tesla coil sparks. They are literally playing the music due to the programmed phase, pulse width and firing frequency! So, there are no speakers, no audio / video special effects. It looks even better in person and sounds almost the same, but much louder than people would expect.
I hope you all enjoy this version where I worked for musical tesla coils!

@@swagmaster-vn2dx Because the light coming _from_ the lightningstrike reaches our eyes before the sound coming from it does. This doesn't say anything about the speed that the _lightning_ travels from the atmosphere to the ground. (sidenote, since electrons have rest mass, they can not travel at lightspeed, only things with 0 restmass can do that, no matter how much they get accellerated)

Ok so I looked at the maxwell-equations and technically, as soon as one arm of plasma has touched the ground, the energy _does_ get transmitted at lightspeed, but the electrons still move at non-lightspeed.That is why in slowmo, the lightning first seems to snake it's way downward up until it hits the ground, suddenly glowing way brighter and causing the thunder and main lightningstrike. You can also see this in the video, the plasma arms that hit the ground are a lot brighter then the ones that just flail in the air.
