This week Doug, Rich, and I head down south to Metal Detect in the beautiful state of North Carolina at Digstock V. Joining us for day one is our good friend and fellow KZfaqr Brad Martin from Green Mountain Metal Detecting, one of the most talented video creators you'll come across. To add a little extra excitement to the day, like this isn't enough already, I figured I'd throw a friendly 'finds' challenge Brad's way and he was all for it, a Team Quarter Hoarder vs Team Green Mountain competition, even if we're all really rooting for everyone. Joining us also is our old friend Leroy, Karin and Amanda; and even some surprise guests that pop in, like KG and Ringy from the Metal Detecting TV show "Diggers", as well as friend and fellow creator Brandon from "Adventure Archaeology". This is gonna be one magical day, so cue the music and let the games begin!

I was at the digstock event. Best part was all the terrific people I met from all over the country including Alaska. Worst part was the scarcity of good finds. I ended up with 5 buttons, 2 Indians, 3 wheaties, and a Sharps carbine civil war era bullet in about 24 hours of hunting. I would say my success was perhaps about average based on the 30 or 40 people I talked to. The bullet was very cool, my first civil war era type. But otherwise it was very hard work for not much. The organizers did a great job conducting the event in my opinion and was great to encounter so many good people.

The fields were huge that picking a hot spot comes down to a little bit of luck. Plus locals probably also hint those fields I’d imagine. I know I would have if I loved down there. Congrats on the CW bullet. I was hoping for one myself, but that will have to wait for another day.

Been a long time since I have seen KG...Back during the TV show with the Ring master... KG looking a lot different than I remember..... Those two guys were missing another stooge 🤓...I never missed an episode.. Those two cracked me up... Cartwheels, handstands and leaping around when they made a good find!!!!

Wow Jason Doug and Rich. Jason I enjoyed this video alot. Brad from GMMD The Ring Master King George and the rest of the group. Can't wait to tell my daughter you had King George and the Ring Master with you. We used to watch there show faithfully until it got canceled. My now 21 year old still sometimes goes out with me detecting. Congrats on the Civil War I Button. The US Button is awesome. Very nice Silver Mercury and Barber Dimes. My first hunt at dig stock great to meet the quarter hoarder didn't show my finds but I managed to score a NC two piece button Hillsboro military academy with wreath shank intact has a push but I think it's rare you guys Rock !

I would have cleaned house, I had a 21 coin spill near that old church. They were all modern and I had to quit digging, because I would have been there all day. There were still tons of signals in the hole.
