I've been stacking Solana for a while, and came to your channel to get a balanced strawman argument against Solana. Surprised you didn’t mention the Solana Firedancer Validator upgrade- that will be truly groundbreaking & will smoke everyone else’s TPS plus it will make the network be able to be validated on simpler hardware helping it become even more decentralized.

To be fair, solana is quite a unique chain. I say chain without block because it doesn't have block. It's more like a string with knots between events. It uses the fact that validators can exam multiple segments at the same time with a multicore CPU while producer can only use 1 core, which let the producer 100% their CPU while all validators can still catch up on him. That's why solana is so fast. Biggest innovation since the invention of Ethereum.

@@zjz1 currently, officially, it's still not a finished product (beta version) in any way or shape, yet people risk finances, and now, real life infrastructure . Proof of history is still pretty much an experiment, which we don't yet know if it will be reliable enough of a way for consensus or not. They cut a lot of corners to reach that speed and finality, and very sadly, few talk about that - it remains a highly shilled product. Take this influencer here and one aspect that he ''forgot'' to talk about, and if you are highly into the project maybe you can tell us, how many tokens can we expect to be rained down thanks to the high involvement with FTX (if the judge decides FTX and co.'s bags to be sold)? I did hold sol, and I am again thinking about buying some, but I still can't come to reach the conclusion that it would be a wise decision. And if I do buy some, as was the case when I had it, it will mostly be for the potential of return if the experiment is successful (it's not like some other projects where I like their values and teams). Ah, related to what you said, isn't that just another unpredictable aspect (how much will they improve the protocol, how much will tech cheapen, so that their design won't just end up creating high centralisation)? But, in terms of uniqueness, yeah, it is.

It’s not as centralized as you may believe. Look into its Nakomoto coefficient. It’s the best of the layer ones, including ethereum.

FTX collapse didn't bring solana price down from 250$. Solana price was already down in bear market at 36$ and when FTX collapsed it did bring Solana to 10$, so dont mislead people here!

We need more details on Sol, What are the builders building on the network? How about difference between proof of history and the other proofs? What product is being used the most? Raydium for a DEX which games? I feel like you could go more technical, and dive deeper since what you explained feels like common knowledge. I enjoy your video's, but we need more data which would give us more insight on what is happening in the Sol ecosystem compared to other protocols.
