@@jamesjones2173 rapping was invented in 1968, since the show and proves of The Nation of 5 percent. Every "talked song" isn't a rap, there are a lot of talked music, like the german Sprechgesang. But rapping was invented in 1968 when DJ Kool Herc (and other djs) met with firsts MCs (almost 5percents people) and put music into the show and proves (the first rap battles).
