Coke Removes and Repairs Pitting and Cleans Alloy Wheels FAST

My alloys have suffered from brake dust pitting for ages and all sorts of 'specialist' products that I have tried have not worked at all. After all this experimentation all it takes to get rid of the unsightly pit / pitting marks is a dash of coca cola, some aluminium foil and a generous helping of elbow grease! All items that are in your own home and cost almost nothing. Wheels come up really well and don't take long to clean through. Be gentle as too much pressure on the foil can lead to small scratch marks on the wheels. Hope you get to try this technique on your wheels. Let me know how you get on through the comments section.

Pretty sure the coca cola doesn’t do anything, it just acts like a lubricant, the tinfoil is scraping off all the tar. The tinfoil scratches the clearcoat on your rims so I’d suggest giving them a light polish afterz Also instead of tinfoil you could use a plastic card or scraper, I recently did that and it worked nicely. (Polished it after too)

What kind of product did you use for the polish?

When you say pitting, Do you actually mean just stubborn brake dust thats hunkered into the aluminium. Proper pitting is the equivelent of shallow cavitys, I can't see how this would remove enough material to sort that? Currently cleaning up some Bike wheels hence the interest. Wire brush removes to much material when on a drill, 600 wet and dry by hand not enough.
