What a stupid premise. What's the magic cutoff point? 500 mil? 100 mil? One mil? Pick a number, then try to justify it. It's not about how much you have; it's about how you got it and how you use it. I'm sure most of us have come across someone who stole twenty bucks from another person's wallet just to go score some crack.

@@davidanderson_surrey_bcTry and educate yourself a little. Inheritance is one of the primary reasons to get rich. Money stays in families over centuries. So does poverty if you don't get a break. Rich people work hard? You think all people running short of money are lazy? Some have 3 jobs to make ends meet, let alone they will ever become rich. Because a second reason people become rich is luck. A lot of people work hard or have bright ideas. But a lot of times luck makes the difference between becoming rich of your idea and failing. I don't like guys stealing twenty bucks to score crack, but I also don't like rich people avoiding taxes and/or committing fraud to become even richer. To the ones that made it by themselves: I say, good for you. Also admit you had some portion of luck getting there and share with people who were not that lucky.

Everyone is raising prices, but not giving their employees better pay (unless you are service jobs where they are having a hard time filling positions, but is still too low).

Elected officials aren’t doing their job for the people who elect them, rather they even benefit from either sitting idly and letting this happen or secretly profit from not regulating corporations and businesses. It’s the absolute same here in Germany, and all over Europe as far as I can see. This leads to more votes for extreme parties and extreme political views - Trump/GOP in the case of the USA. So one could argue that by not regulating the market, the Dems are digging their own grave. The U.S. economy is strong - but average Joe doesn’t feel it because he’s getting robbed at the cash register.

100% agree, even in Australia many of the jobs (especially entry level jobs) are selectively given by companies based on how much money they can get from the government to subsidise the cost of employment and then after this it's still basically award wage (the minimum they can legally pay the employee). And to add insult to injury, these employees are then let go for any number of reasons the moment they pass the mark where the government stops paying subsidies on their continuing employment and then would only fill the role with another new person with a government backed dole to work program. Basically it's free employment and little tax paid back into the system, it's no wonder governments are slowly drowning in debt to maintain their economies (and the real impact of Ai on jobs has not yet been felt either).
