Saw the film yesterday, I’m a 27 yr old guy living in a city in Canada. I walked in to the theater thinking there will be nothing in the film that I could relate to, I mean a remote Irish island in 1925. But boy I found a little bit of myself in all the characters, like they were holding up a mirror to my face. Kind of a movie that grows on you slowly.

Hey, I’m a 27yr old woman living in a Canadian city as well, and I saw myself a lot in Padraig, Colm and Siobhan. This is really good filmmaking, how local it is and yet how global it goes

And I watched this on New Year’s Eve with MY 27 year old daughter and we both were amazed at how well the story was told, and how invested in the characters we both were. It was laugh out loud funny, sweet, but then became as dark as you can get. It’s such a simple premise but you’re glued to the screen. It should be ranked right up there in the best of the best films of the year. Wow!

You MAY get summer weather but you could also get 4 seasons of weather in one day🤣 so bring rainwear, jumpers(sweaters), t-shirts and sunglasses and most importantly an umbrella ☔️ it rains a lot here🤪Also to come around March 17th St Patrick’s day would probably be expensive also. Don’t just stick to Dublin as I see some tourists do, they fly into Dublin, stay there and fly back out again. Spend 2 days in Dublin and then head to the west coast, Mayo, Galway, Aran Islands, Clare, Kerry, west Cork - stunning scenery. Fly into Dublin out of Shannon. Do your research and if/when you come - enjoy 😊

The Irish always had a way with words. The way they structure their sentences. They don't use hard words, but just simple, everyday words but end up saying something something profound. I noticed it in every interview I saw of Colin Farrell and I notice it with Brendon Gleeson here.

When I was in school, some Irish travelers joined our group of friends (for a few weeks). And I still, all these years later, remember his description of Guinness in the right part of Ireland vs. everywhere else. At the end he said, "It's like an angel dancin' on me tongue." (Imagine an Irishman, complete with accent, and with an enraptured expression on his face.) And that's just one example. 😂😂😂😁

The Irish? When people makes such lazy, sweeping statements, it’s so inaccurate. There is no such thing as the ‘irish’; it’s just a conceptual construction. All irish are different and if you take a sample of just hundred people living in Ireland, you will discover a range of diverse and highly complex individuals of every variation imaginable. Statements starting with ‘Black people’ or ‘Christians’ or ‘Muslims’ or whatever is just wrong. I suggest you buy a microscope.

They get More pay for doing Less work or none at all while the working class are given the least pay for doing the most unwanted jobs/tasks. The middle class don't have the accent sound of the country as they are thought to speak and act differently to the majority of people of their countries. The least Irish people are upper and middle class people. That goes for other cultures.

Martin McDonagh is a brilliantly artistic director . The fact he is directing two of my favourite actors to ever grace the screen , all I can say is "Thank you sir "; I can't wait to see this. Oh one other note , for 58 yrs I have had two Irish Wolfhounds by my side , for me not to attend this movie would be an insult to both my ladies and therefore unthinkable , my hat is off to all three of you gentlemen .....

Beautiful, devastating, heartbreaking, how the loss of love and the grief can destroy and change one. Colin, Brendan, Kerry and Barry were magic. But Barry's proposal scene was shattering, the pain, hurt hope and disappointment all played across his face...ouff. The setting..heavenly Ireland at it's most stunning ☘🇨🇮💚

When Colin Farrell spoke with such a strong Irish accent I thought, Wow he has such a great accent in this film. The truth is he has such a great American accent in all of his other movies. What a twist, huh?

@@shawk2832 Try to read what I wrote again. I was used to seeing him in movies where he spoke like an American. I was saying that I was surprised that his normal way of speaking was with such a strong Irish accent. Get it now? I am just as surprised that there are so many people who don´t end a sentence with a period.

@@wordwarrior2350 that's still not a twist is it, more your ignorance of Colin being Irish, you assumed an Irish man had an American accent. 🤣🤣🤣

@@dkinclonberne Try learning how to read. For the last time. C.F. is an Irish Actor. In the three or four films, of his, I saw. He sounded like he was Irish-American. Get it so far. ... I didn´t know that he has such an Irish accent in "Real Life". This is the first time I heard it. OK? Please tell me you get it now., OK?
