Everything they talk about is approved by her beforehand. There's no way in hell a talk show would go on without setting boundaries with guests first. That would cause a lot of issues with people getting upset.

tonym50195 Oftentimes one with anxiety will swear & try to act out as what is usually perceived as normal. It's a way to try to appear "normal" & not vulnerable. I just speak from experience & being highly observant. It's very easy to admit certain things when you are speaking anonymously on the internet btw.

I have a degree in Psychology. I would beg to differ. She is of average intelligence, she does only have a 7th grade education. She did get her GED though. Stupid people use profanity when they cannot find a word or cannot structure a sentence.

So an actress with a well known anxiety problem is on the show, she botches her little joke about new/old hair, embarrassing herself, which makes her anxiety even worse, so Colbert brings up her past cheating scandal AND touches her without asking? Total douche move. I mean, pretty much everyone knows Kristen has severe anxiety, and even if you don't know, you should be able to tell because she's so nervous the air around her is vibrating. The restless bouncing of her legs, absentmindedly scratching her neck or arms while talking, looking down a lot while talking instead of maintaining eye contact... very classic, easily recognized signs of anxiety. To deliberately put her on the spot and make her uncomfortable is incredibly rude.

First, part of your comment makes no sense. "People dealing with anxiety hate hearing that they're dealing with anxiety..." Show me where I said Colbert should have told her she's dealing with anxiety. WTF are you getting at there? You're arguing with something I didn't even fucking say. I said you can easily read her anxiety, so he was a douche for mentioning the humiliating past scandal and for touching her without asking. And as far as hating when people interpret your feelings... what, like Kristen is actually going to read this, so I should have refrained from mentioning her obviously anxious body language? Second, my own anxiety is SO bad that I'm borderline agoraphobic and find it incredibly difficult to leave my house most of the time, and I feel uncomfortable until I get back home, so yeah, I know all about social anxiety disorder, and I totally "fucking understand her," which is WHY I said he was a douche for making her even more uncomfortable.

That's so interesting that you commented that, while I was watching this clip, I was wondering whether she might have social anxiety. Her body language makes her seem closed off, crossing her legs and tucking her hands between them is something I always do. I have no idea how somebody with social anxiety would ever become and actor though, it seems unlikely she actually has the disorder

Really? I reckon Stephen is surprisingly weak when it comes to celebrity interviews, and generally anything not politically related. He does the best monologues, but when it comes to interviewing celebrities he has a hard time pretending he's interested in the guest. And HOLY SHIT, the questions he gave Kristen were RIDICULOUS. "Why do you say 'dude'?" "Do you believe in ghosts?" They were laughing at her because she had to give a shitty answer to a triply shitty question, and I felt seriously bad for her. GRAHAM NORTON. That's the one guy who can make anyone feel special.

It's a way of not alienating any segment of her fanbase and respecting and having consideration for her whole audience. I don't see any reason why these interviews should just be fluff. IMO Colbert handled it fairly, he didn't push it that hard when it was clear she didn't want to really talk about it. And her reaction speak volumes, it's clearly a part of her life she's embarrassed about and would rather not revisit. By comparison Trump who was the one making a big deal of it back then seems unashamed of the fact he cheated on two (probably all three) of his wives instead boasting about it in certain contexts. He seems barely ashamed of bragging about sexual assault. Yet somehow I'm sure many look far more poorly on her due to that part of her life than they do on Trump.

If your a female then you must be 60 or above and stuck in old society and used to being disrespected or... Your a guy being.... a guy. 🙄 Either way, it’s NEVER OKAY TO MAKE WOMEN UNCOMFORTABLE AND BE OKAY WITH IT!
