That's why most talk show hosts don't have him on the show a second time. Steven Colbert is one of the very very few to actually get him to talk about ... well ... anything. He even makes a joke out of his silence and it works, without being offensive. I remember how Jimmy Fellon once interviewed him and tried to be funny. He got nothing.

After overthinking and making my comparisons for years with my top five actors (it changes over the years) he’s #1. He was always in my top three but I had to choose I can be so indecisive and it’s just so hard. We’ve got some really brilliant actors. He’s the only that can play just about any role and really becomes the role. He amazes me.

You are correct. I have noticed people(most likely 45 supporters) are now stating De Niro "could never act" I have encountered this insane person on a Godfather video actually stating "De Niro sucked as Vito Corleone" and the one that gets me, is The Irishman. I have seen many posters on KZfaq and other forums praise Pacino and Pesci's performance in the film(Which they rightfully deserve)but completely trash De Niro. It's beyond assnine and ridiculous.

Originally I am from the Netherlands, now live for almost 30 years in the Čech Republic. Maybe you can imagine that in Europe we don't see much of this show. Now I saw it on YT. And this interview with Robert de Niro was one of the funniest things I've seen for a long time. I love him as an actor and I love him for what he said about D. Trump. For me to Trump was the most idiot president I have seen in my life. Not a single moment he talked, behaved or acted like a president should do. He was just himself and that was more than enough. Too few people know 'Midnight Run' - absolutely brilliant interaction between de Niro's character and his seemingly-bland, bail-bond prisoner, played by Charles Grodin. Anyone who has acted knows the 'two character' play, or film is incredibly difficult. Do see it if you can. No sex, minimal violence, great dialogue and characters and sometimes moments of great instinctive acting. (watch for the coat-tucking moment for example). My favourite de Niro and favourite Grodin picture.
