The first time l saw the guys was about this era, late 1979. I met Jimmy at the bar after the gig and he asked if we were going again the following night. We said no because we couldnt afford to go two nights running. He said just come down and l will get you in. We thought he'd forget about it but true to his word he came out and found us.

Yeah ,but for the finest piece of Aussie TV,Barnsy was on the panel that night on the ABC,s Q n A Show ,but at the end of the show Jimmy Barnes ,sang Working Class Man,with just a keyboard player and bass player, any fans of the man check it out on ABC IVIEW,Its somethin else!!

I think jimmy's voice was at it's best when heard in cold chisel written songs......his solo efforts are awesome in themselves but he truly excelled when all the Chisel members were contributing

Not sure about at its best. Surely Raw and such feeling. Louder and faster!!! Certainly I prefer his rawness up to about the nineties. Still think he is fkn Fantastic. :)

Like so many I went to many, many, many Chisel gigs in this era. They were always that awesome!!! Jimmy's torn shirt? Was his "Sunday Best" lol I am so lucky to have been around back in the day. Of course I went to Chisel shows later down the track and although the music just kept getting more awesome, nothing beats Sunday Night at the Bondi Lifesaver here in Sydney - affectionately known as The Swap!!!
