Hi Chris, thanks for this great machining video. I loved the close-ups of the bore, the internal thread and the final finish on the assembled parts checked with your giant micrometer, so good. Have a nice weekend Chris.

Chris these drawings you show us were all drawn by hand from the looks of things. Are these replacement parts or old designs for the parts you're are building? My point is I love the look of hand drawn prints. Every draftsman had a unique style and every one I have ever worked from was much nicer to use than the current cad stuff I get. Cheers

I work with them almost daily. Some are in really good shape, and some look like they've been photocopied hundreds of times.

Are these tool paths created at the machine through canned cycles or hand writing code or are they typically third pary programed with software? Ive always wondered. Great work as always

There was a mix. A36,1045 4140, and the shaft 4340.

Robi wrażenie. Ale jak wykobać ten podłużny otwór przez cały wał, zeby było prostoliniowo i współosiowo? Bo ten patyk w tym otworze przesuwając się powoduje wysuwanie tych ,,szczęk" (tak mi się wydaje, przynajmniej)? Do czego służy ten cały mechanizm i co przesuwa tym środkiem? Ogromne to.

I seem to remember that you have used this lathe since it was new so a question for you. Have you ever had to adjust the base and tailstock of this lathe to keep it turning parallel? What sort of error would prompt you to make adjustments?

I think the lathe bed was leveled twice since new. I do have to make small adjustments on the tailstock, but it depends on the size and length of the part I'm working on. Anything else, I'll just compensate in the program.
