I bought 2 of these. Great beater bowie. Keep one in my car in case of bad things. Lol. Tough knife. 1055 steel is badass

Your well done destructive test as well as JoeX's clearly prove that these inexpensive well made, durable Cold Steel hybrid Machete Knifes, Swords are in many ways superior to the way more expensive real Bowie knifes. I will buy one for use as a last resort ditch Personal Safety Defensive Device against dangerous animal attacks. Goid job, keep the videos coming!

The sharpened back edge is for making reverse cuts.

It's awesome ! 30$ for this - it's without money - it's a gift ! And till i know, it's 1055 steel...... Damn ! I want 1 of these ! With this thing i don't care if a pitbull, or wolf, or a crocodile, or bunch motherf*ckers attacks me - i don't care, i will show them that they've done a big mistake, and they are f*ckin' with the wrong guy...

Bowie knives are not machetes they are Bowie knives named afterJames Bowie. Its a fighting knife hence the hilt above the handle and Below the blade. Not a machete if thats what they told you they are wrong.

Cold Steel markets it as part of their machete line very specifically. In the video I call it both a bowie knife and a machete. They call it a bowie style machete on their website.

@Peter Alexander Well, if you got stabbed by it, the effects will be just as deadly nonetheless. 3mm is plenty of thickness. People should stop living in a fantasy that you need at least 6mm thick knives to be effective or deadly. It's complete BS.

@Peter Alexander The judges of a tv program. Very impressive. You think those guys know more about killing than me? You think you can answer that? Are able to answer that? Know enough to answer that? The steel blade kills, whether it is 3mm or 6mm . I don't give one iota about that tv program.

I have far more expensive Bowie "knives", including the CS Chaos Bowie. This machete knife is still my favorite.
