Just a mild rant about my thoughts and feelings on Cold Steel and their AD collection and my collection of them quite frankly. I really dig Cold steel and recommend them to new collectors

Happy Belated Birthday. Cold Steel is my All Time Favorite. I’ve had well over 60 CS Knives and never once had any Failures and or Chips, Rolls and Breaks. I’ve had Spyderco, Benchmade, Hinderer and a Medford. Every single one of them knives had Lock Failures, Severe Chipping and Broken Tips. I’m a Arborist so needless to say my knives have been put through Hard Use and a Few even dropped out my pockets when I was 40-60ft up in Trees. The only Brand I’ve literally never had Problems with was my CS. For the Money there is Nothing out there as Tough and Durable as CS.

WOW!! Thats a testament to the greatness of CS!! You DONT have to spend a ton of money to get great Knives! As I collect I am attracted to the higher end knives for different reasons... IMO the AD10 / AD15 is all you would ever need!! Thank you for commenting!

@@wcreview8227 thanks for the kudos on my Tom Russell cover tune! Tom comes highly recommended if you haven't heard him before, great American songwriter. I think I will also get AD10 or maybe the 15, that locking mechanism is pretty friggin cool! I saw Spydy Para with the custom scales, extremely cool. 👍

Sometimes MidwayUSA has really really good deals on certain models . They had the ad10 and ad15 for $50 😮. They had the signature Spartan for $100 a few months back . The edge is all serrated but it’s still a cool knife .

My SR1 Lite was about $38 on Amazon. Insanely good price and value for a large, strong, all-purpose beater knife. My AD-15 and both my AD-10 knives (one is tanto) are all satin-finish S35VN blades with black G10 handles. I got the three AD knives before they ever offered any of them with coated blades and the SR1 Lite I just got very recently. My CS collection is much more extensive than these that I just mentioned and they’re all excellent values. I don’t own any Medfords, Hinderers, Hobacks, Strider folders or other high-end cutlery, unless you consider my humble Benchmade, Victorinox, ESEE & Tops collections, which are really all more high-value than high-end.

thhat is an AWESOME Collection.. You got that SR1 for a STEAL!! Clearly I love Cold Steel As well.. I will Caution you though.. once you get a Medford or one of the higher end knives, a shift takes place in the Brain...LOL I am NOT an Addictive personality, however youd never know it when it comes to knives.. Im unsure how you feel aboout USA Made knives Vs Elsewhere, but If I were to reccomend a First for you Id say see if you can get your Hands on an XM-24 (Hinderer) If youre o with a 8" Knife consider the XM-18 as they are much more readily available. but I have come to MY conclusion and that is that Medford Knives are just the Holy grail of what I love.. they are just very expensive, but I have watched a lot of youtube and learned that a lot goes into their production as well.. Id love to chat more man!! Thank you for commenting

@@wcreview8227 As far as “high-end” knives go, I do have a Chris Reeve folder and one of their fixed blades. A plain-Jane, full-size Inkosi is the folder and a black DLC-coated Nyala with black handles is the one fixed blade I own by CRK. Then, there’s just one Strider fixie that I have. The stubby, robust, little DB hunk of 3V from Monkey Edge. I’m hoping to add a Medford & Hinderer before too much longer. Thanks for checkin out my scooter 🛴 short. There’s lots more of that content in longer video form showing my (occasional) 60+ mph thrill rides! 🤘🏼

I love Cold steel! I love big knives like the AD10 and 4 Max Scout! The Aus 10 on the 4 Max Scout seems equal to the S35VN in use . Resell or collector value maybe not .

I could have a 3 hour conversation with you on Blade steel.. Ill say this// I like the perceived value of premium steel, but beyond that I have never had a problem with D2 , AUS 8 , AUS 10 or any of the CR>>>> whatever metals.. Im told I need to look into the 4 max, but I just feel Ive done that.. I am just about to pull the trigger on a Spyderco Manix XL.. ORRRR do I save the Birthday money and parlay it into a Medford after I sell a few knives? if youre ever in buying mode let me know.. ill put a deal together.. but NO Pressure

Higher end folders are actually the ones with really strong locks like the triad lock. Not hinderer, crk etc. Those are overpriced hype, not high-end. Just my opinion

Good Morning, My 2 Cents.. Higher end knives ARE Hinderer, CRK, Medford etc... Cold Steel is actually more of a budget friendly brand that IMO offers superior quality, however if you ve ever handled a Chris Reeve, a Hinderer, a Medford you MAY not call it Hype. Again, everyone has an opinion and I respect yours, but I mus disagree that Hinderer and CRK are Hype. They are very expensive but I am comfortable with the price point after learning what it takes to produce those knives.. Thank you very much for commenting.. Please let me know your thoughts on what Ive said
