Cold Winter Survival music in this background ambience mix compiled by Atrium Carceri 👉 Bandcamp: cryochamber.bandcamp.com/
👉 Spotify: open.spotify.com/user/cryocha...
"In this mix my brother Martin helped me with this video he recorded in the North of Sweden as the snow falls heavy on an approaching night.
With this 1 hour ambient mix I focus on building a survival narrative with some mysterious deviations midway. I've played a bunch of survival games, I even made the soundtrack to one on PC called Rust. I wanted to capture the feeling of those games, and books/films that deal with the cold winter being the antagonist. I hope you enjoy this mix, it was a lot of fun exploring these concepts

ive had 2nd degree frost bite on my ears once. they turned like pizza the next day. all the tissue was falling off. its no joke trust me. toes and you nose and all small limbs go first. then hands and feet freeze up and they have to amputate your limbs. i have all my limbs thankfully but my ears are now 3x as thin as the average persons. if i get frost bite again i could very well lose my entire ear on both sides. always always dress for the weather and prep in case you get stranded

This would be a great soundtrack for a horror survival video game set in some Taiga region, or somewhere north of the artic circle where you have limited number of days of sunlight to prepare for 6 months of darkness and all the things that come out then.

I'm writing a script right now for my cinema classes in college where the short film is going to be set in my hometown in Northern Canada, and the whole idea is that the Sun has basically become lethal to human, not because of heat or anything so there's still snow everywhere. Basically the very few survivors out there are forced to live in the night at all time. And this soundtrack compilation really inspired me. And your comment really reminded me of my very own project.

I live in Quebec, Canada where the main power company is publicly owned, by law they are not allowed to cut your power in winter (i think it's between October and April actually) even if you don't pay your bills at all and whats more, if you can'T afford to pay your electricity bills you can be put on a low income plan where they will ask you proofs of your income and then determine what you should be able to pay and then you'll have that fixed fee for the next year after which if you still have a low income you'll have to do the same process. I haven't paid more than 45 bucks monthly for electricity in something like 8 years as a result. When i first got on the plan i owed them a 1000$ and they cancelled my debt entirely after i'd stuck to the low income plan for like 3 years (meaning i'd paid all my bills on time, which i didn't have problem doing once they got under 50$, i dont mind telling you in the middle of winter around here it gets cold as f and my bills would be way above a 100 bucks monthly for just one person in a small apartment). My point is.... socialism is good.

@@milkcarton6654 that's merely solidarity and the result of a non polluted, uncorrupted system. Socialism is a different thing and capitalism is merely a system were work gets capitalize with money. Freedom and democracy are completely diferent things too. Don't fall into naive falacies '... therefore socialism is good' learn to difference things from one another. I don't blame you, it is a lot to read through and our jobs are stressfull enough but at least try to consider pragmatically writing publicly down such falacy to emotion.

Yeah, there's just something about it. I've been there too, nothing but a flashlight while it was snowing in the forest. While you can see what's ahead of you, as you look around, it's nothing but white and darkness. Many things are clearer and deeper in a cold weather. Even when I'm fed up with winter and wait for spring to return, I know I would feel bad to live in a place where there is no cold season. I would miss this "breathing". Nice music, and great picture as well. The darkness behind theses fir trees is such a veil of mystery...

I’d never be able to live somewhere that did not have lot, grey winters. If the heat didn’t kill me (anything much over 10C is too warm for my liking), the lack of time in winter to introspect and take life more deliberately for a while would.

When you´re in survival state, other than what you might think of it, there is no great discomfort; no great pain to torture your mind, no cold to freeze your organs and your fingers, no fear to drive you crazy and kill you from within... don´t get me wrong; you´d have every reason to feel those things. But you do not. In survival state there is nothing but the present moment; the rush of adrenaline flooding your veins like fire, the clear mind, focused on just that one destination. No thoughts to distract you, no surroundings to intimidate you. They may be there but you don´t sense them. Because you´re in hyperfocus, in reptilian mode, in the animalistic side of your psyche. There is no fear, just a choice; to live or die, that is your task. In this moment you are not living; you´re just surviving.

As he trudged through the snow.. his emotions were like the feeling of the freezing atmosphere around him. He somehow found a twisted comfort within that. Sometimes he needed to escape to the extremities to be reminded of what was real and what wasn't in a world that sold and presented so many lies. His need for truth was growing stronger by the day because he was disinheartened by all that he saw and heard. Why was it so hard to find genuiness.. simple factual undressed conversation. They liked to wrap their words with pretty sparkly bows as if wrapping a present.. and it made him feel sick to the stomach. He wasn't seeking revenge, he was seeking reality in an unreal world. He could feel the emotions begin to stir within and disgusted at himself that times he fallen into the trap of acceptance by people who he didn't even respect. Not really when all was said and done. He became everything he despised and that tainting affectected him deeply. His own emotions were rising up and he suddenly fell to his knees, head in his hands as if bowing to the night sky.. in a huddled position.. his body began to shake and tremble as he allowed his emotions to be released in a deep, sobbing broken cry. He began to pound the snow with his fist.. angrily.. each time he did something with inside himself broke.. lifting his head an almighty long roar escaped from his mouth though in actual fact much deeper within.. echoing in the night sky.. he roared deeply until he was unable to physically kneel any longer, collapsing face down in the snow. His face turned to the side.. allowing him to breathe.. Taking deep breaths and feeling his heart beat against the snowy ground.. feeling emptied rather than empty. Knowing from this moment forth he wasn't going to be the same person he was before.. he didn't know how to explain it but a change had just taken place.. rolling into his back.. he looked up at the night sky.. it was so clear.. all the stars shining with their own glory.. as he thought how simple it was for them.. to just be. Not having to feel or think human emotions or thoughts. This was the closest he had felt to that .. to just be.. no distractions, no interference, no lies. The snow didn't lie as it soaked through his clothing.. feeling the cold and wetness of its breaking down as his body lay upon it.. The sky wasn't trying to pretend it was a tree or the sun. It just was.. looking at the expanse of the sky was mind-blowing.. and that's only what his own eyes could take in.. the stars that spattered across the cross the sky.. he wondered how many lives they had looked upon over history.. some appeared larger than others, yet no less impressive.. they didn't complain about their size, they just were being what they were made to be. They weren't trying to change themselves to impress or conform to the other stars.. yet surely over all the years of existence change must have taken place even within them. He listened to the sounds carrying upon the wind as if bringing a message to him.. He thought about the mystery of that.. he couldn't see the wind itself yet the things that danced or floated upon the wind were visible for him to see.. how far could a single item really travel upon the wind.. he enjoyed thinking about things like that.. it seemed to be such a freedom unknown to man.. they can create machines to assist flight.. but to actually float like a feather or leaf bouncing and weaving about.. highs and lows.. ins and outs, being able to turn at any time and roll with no pressure points on the body. When he thought about these things he could almost feel the freedom within that but to speak it out verbally sounded much harsher than how he thought it.. so he kept such thoughts to himself. It frustrated him at times trying to express the feelings not just the thoughts because as thoughts alone while interesting didn't have the same meaning. Once again reminded just how much he is affected around those who don't understand in a negative way and doesn't enjoy who he is as that person. Changes are definitely coming and he knows this is only the very start. He knew it would be a cold day in hell before he allowed those lying sluts to force him to become someone he wasn't. He wasn't ashamed of himself he felt no need to lie about his life.. but many did live within shame.. not he.. he refused because so many were only able to see things from their own perspective.. narrow minded and controlling. He had fought hard against that.. Who did they think they were. Noone had the right to force him to become someone he wasn't. He was open minded to new ideas.. but he chose what worked for him.. he could be very reasonable.. but when pushed and feeling controlled by those he couldn't even respect any longer.. that was a different story.

I grew up in the rural areas of my country. It was a village at the foot of a mountain, at the edge of the forest. There was no light on the road in front of our house except for 2 street lamps quite far between them. (there would be quite a distance between them in the dark, and our house was within that range.) And at the last point where the light reached, the dark forest would begin. In my country, the toilets in the villages would be outside the houses. When I was a kid, I didn't want to go to the toilet at night. But when I had to go, I would do my best not to look into the forest. Because in that darkness, in that silence behind the trees, I always thought that something was watching me. And I felt that if I made eye contact with that thing, it would attack me. this picture is exactly what I saw outside my house. Dark pines where the light only shines in front and I don't know what's behind

Hey Simon, if you like survival games built around hypothermia you might like Skyrim with frostfall installed. It's actually a really harsh and enjoyable experience as traveling between cities and towns actually requires planning and supplies if you don't want to freeze or die on the way. Really makes gameplay dynamic, with a massive focus on survival in forests.

"Skyrim is harsh, men. Skyrim is not Cyrodiil. We go to face down men, to break a rebellion, but you will also face a land that breaks men. The Fatherland doesn't need steel or spell or arrow to take you; Skyrim has vast wastes of cold earth to starve you, beasts that shame those of your Cyrodiil to take you in the night even when you feel safe by your fires, and a cold so bitter and unforgiving and unending that you will feel like death's breathing on you every step of the way. this whole mix is so beautiful. reminds me of the dark and solemn Winters up at my parents house, where they live in a small town surrounded by deep forests and valleys of Muskoka, Ontario Canada. For sure if i was visiting them on any weekend during these winter months, I would be at my dad's thick wood desk working on something late into the night as the gentle but heavy snow falls under the blanket of gentle winds brushing up against the windows to their kitchen and living room of their house they converted into a bed & breakfast.

This character, named H, is the embodiment of hypothermia, and the chilling ambients and the eerie atmosphere of each song suit him and his heat-deleting sprees very well. Because of the vivid thoughts of H it has given me, I've now fallen in love with this channel's collection of wintry ambients, especially Ugasanie's work (^w^)
