coldcasechrist...
Why should we trust what the gospel authors have to say about Jesus? How can we test the Gospel authors to see if their accounts are reliable? J. Warner answers these questions in this video from a stage presentation from his book, Cold-Case Christianity.

I love your body of work. I've commented on Joe Rogans channel that I wish he'd interview you! You say what no one else does. Even scientists who are coming to Christ, still are using their " experience with God" when asked as to the reason they believe. How you use evidential truth, timelines, historical data and then shape that into a framework like youre solving a cold case is so unique and brilliant. I really think its time these major podcasters have you on. They are all having guests discussing God right now!! Its relavant and timely. Im praying for this for you... for them, for our world.

What a fantastic prayer calling 🙏. Let’s get a group prayer going for that (sorry, I only just saw the video and your comment). I will tell brothers and sisters about it.

J Warner Wallace takes a blue-collar approach to apologetics, yet his evidence for the reliability of Christianity is quite scientific. It's hard to believe his channel does not have more subscribers.

When comparing the reliability of the Bible to that of the Qur'an, it seems a miracle to me that Islam has survived to this day.

In film, the exploration of an event from numerous eyewitness perspectives is called the Rashomon effect, named after the film of the same name. Every witness is telling the truth, but their perspectives are totally different, sometimes creating a series of (seeming) contradictions. I first learned the term after seeing the Farscape episode "The Ugly Truth".

‭‭“Do not think that I came to abolish the Torah or the Prophets! I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. Amen, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or serif shall ever pass away from the Torah until all things come to pass. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever keeps and teaches them, this one shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."

I trust it because every book of it is infallible. For nearly three thousand years, there isn't a single a flaw because it came from God, who is absolutely perfect. How is he perfect? He has all knowledge, and that's the reason why He's perfect.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16- 17 ESV) “All the archaeological and manuscript evidence supporting the Bible makes it the best-documented book from the ancient world.”

The question is can people's interpretation be trusted. No. The devil is a liar, so tell me how you believe him anything is his? Won't get an answer because everyone fell for it

Just because we dont have writen history of the Temple destruction in the NT for example, doesn't absolute means they didn't write about it
@user-ve6sp2yz6v

Can I pose you a question: if we can just assume things about the NT, or any historical or religious text, then why not just assume that the Bible writes about all the scientific discoveries today? Would that not prove it?
@prestonbacchus4204
@prestonbacchus4204 6 ай бұрын
The Bible can not be "trusted" because it is not literally intended, its a work of religious metaphor. Whether that can be "trusted" would depend on the interpretation.
@pcdeltalink036

Except it often isn't. It is frequently presented involving specific historical figures at specific years in history. That is not a sort of 'once upon a time' document. That is a 'this happened at this place in this specific year with this specific person(s).' That isn't metaphor, that's historical at that point.
