People definitely sleep on Coldplay, man... Huge catalogue of great music. If you aren't a fan of their top "hit" songs, just dig a bit deeper because there's some killer tunes by them. I would say 95% of their best songs aren't played on the radio and go unnoticed by anyone outside of their fanbase.

Aside from their first few records, This song, along with Arabesque, Trouble in Town, Hypnotised, All I Can About Is You and Atlas have been my favs from this band. They have all elements of prog rock and it’s a shame that these songs have been shunned from the spotlight. But I get it, they’re not very commercially viable anymore. Love it when they are able to combine all of the Oldplay and Newplay styles into one, because it’s often the best work they release.

So I'm here cos I'm a Coldplay fan since the beginning nearly 25 years ago. Their early sound drew me in and their talent and musicianship added to the amazing live experience has just kept me hooked. I know the criticism about the pop stuff but all of that for me is great live anyway and the collective jumping up and down and singing is just one part of this Coldplay experience. The other parts are all the rest from what they produce in the studio as continued masters of their craft and their general overall commitment to quality music and what they can contribute to life in general. From "Arabesque" to "Midnight" to "Coloratura" they just excel at what the do. I couldn't believe what I was hearing with this one. Summed up 25 years of teamwork and artistry in one 10 minute experience for me.I can only hope they do it live in a stadium. That would be more than amazing. Thanks for reviewing. I love it when others who don't usually listen to Coldplay "get it" even if it's just one song. And boy what a song

Thanks for summing up your Coldplay experience! I have the same feelings about their music, even though I'm younger so I've become their fan "just" 9 years ago, haha. I love their courage to experiment with the sound and genre despite the massive criticism against them. To me, Coldplay are basically the musical embodiment of life. They have songs for any kind of emotion. Can't wait to see them at live concert again!

Absolutely stunning music! As you say, something of Pink Floyd, but also Vangelis (reminds me of the album “Oceanic” from 1996… the ambiance specially in the beginning and some of the instrumental parts). I truly love Coldplay music, although some of it falls into some pop consumption comercial kind, the truth is that there’s a lot more from Coldplay to listen to. And the most impressive is that the music is quite simple but composed and arranged in such a passionate way and with a truly remarkable palette of sounds that as the ability to transport the listener to another dimension! Coldplay has finally finally broken out of that pop song form. I was happy to hear this song because i know where there at with their music. It reminds me of dream theatre a little

When you mentioned the production. And that it's really good. It was produced by Max Martin. Who if your not familar with is pretty much THE pop producer. Most big artists of the past few decades have had a song produced by him.

Amazing review. May I suggest that you check out 'Arabesque' from their last album. They really push the buck on that one.

Great to watch someone else enjoy this. I think it's absolutely epic! I just wish Jonny's solo was about a minute longer. In dreamworld I'd see this live and David Gilmour would stroll on stage and join them.

This track shows that the experimentation of the last album isn’t being left there and that’s a massive win. Everyday Life is such a different Coldplay album but still up there for me as it focusses more on what the music is doing than on if the tracks will be successful. Coloratura feels like a natural succession to that, as does ‘Human Heart’ which is circling online after a few live performances of it. This song is more of a movement in an orchestral production and as a lover of music and someone who finds radio pop music to be incredibly copy and paste, this is a breathe of fresh air.

PT-BR Cara, amei a tua abordagem! Vivendo. EN-US: Dude, I love your approach! I loved how delivered you were, let yourself go with the music, and that's exactly what Coldplay does to me. Coloratura makes me go to heaven, I cry like a baby, they defragment my soul and organize everything again, she ends up putting me back to bed, to continue dreaming, sleeping.... Living.

You should react to some instrumental stuff as well! Like post-rock, or some doomgaze ext. Bands like Holyfawn, This Will Destroy You, and so many more deserve some reaction love.

They have grown so much musically over the years. A true treasure to the human race. And rare that a band exists so equally....Such awesome beauty and creativity.
