2000-06-26 - Wisseloord Studios, Hilversum, The Netherlands This is the full version of an unreleased song by Coldplay. It's called " Harmless " and was played during the Parachutes era. Enjoy. ;)

I think the beauty of the unreleased songs is the fact that they're unreleased. The fact that less people know about them, that you can't buy them, and that being able to hear them is a really special thing.

The Parachutes era was amazing. I saw them live here in Detroit when they were touring for A Rush Of Blood. And they played almost every song off of Parachutes and A Rush of Blood. Probably best concert ever.

Chris's voice is beyond anything anyone has ever heard. its so emotional, he can hit high notes like falsetto without straining his voice like other singers. every word chris sings is pure gold.

It's an absolute shame that this song was not released by the band in any way.
@odetodeodorant29968 жыл бұрын
trivia of the day: The reason the cover art for this album is a globe is because the band wanted to make a reference to the Hitch-hikers Guide to the galaxy. Also in the hitch-hikers guide they refer to the earth as "mostly harmless" so this song may have possibly been inspired by that book. Also their song "Don't Panic" is a reference to the Hitch-hikers guide.
@dragonsmythical168 жыл бұрын
what about 42?
@odetodeodorant29968 жыл бұрын
Yes, that would also be a reference to that book. And so is "Paranoid Android" by Radiohead.
@dragonsmythical168 жыл бұрын
+Ode todeodorant cool I have never read the book but I remember hearing something talking about that book has a reference to the number 42 and then I thought it kinda goes along with the song 42.
@odetodeodorant29968 жыл бұрын
I highly recommend reading the book. There are five of them in the series, all five are great. You can buy a collection including all five in one package on amazon. And the movie sucks. The movie is nothing like the book.

+Ode todeodorant Alright I'll look forward to reading them!

Idk why so many people hate Mylo Xyloto. I mean sure it's not the overall style they used to play, but it's still good. I mean listen to Charlie Brown and try to fight the feeling of jumping up and down, you cant, it's a fun song. It's not slow or sad, but it still has that element of beauty to it that Coldplay songs have. The same goes for the rest of the songs on that album (not all). That mystifying shiver that you find in every album is still felt (by me at least) in Mylo Xyloto too.

@@PetrolheadAEHG original Coldplay ended with Viva la Vida. Now they just make mainstream pop music, which is fine. I guess Chris wanted to expand their fan base.

The piano sounds like an electric vintage piano, like the Yamaha CP70. Actually that piano even has a tremolo effect you can turn on, and that is consistent with the final seconds of the song. Could it be it?

Did you just guess that? That keyboard was actually used in the song trouble, so it probably is.

I genuinely felt like MX was a grower, hated it at first as it seemed to just talk about dancing to music and lame pop lyrics that meant nothing, but after a while, the more i listened to it the more i loved it, Up with the birds being my favourite song, and such masterpieces as Charlie Brown just make MX their most diverse and fantastic album yet! I cant wait for their next we all know itll be incredible.
