for the coldplayers on here who are not familiar with bts or have preconceived notions on them, they are actually amazing musicians in their native language and not at all represented by what you've probably heard of them from their songs in english or more mainstream stuff america pushes, they have a very diverse discography genre wise and are poets in korean, this is a match made in heaven collaboration and we love hearing two amazing artists like coldplay and bts work together and show that language barrier means nothing.

People dont need to like BTS if they're not into them, as long as they are being respectful. Not liking their music is fine, as long as people dont add really disgusting insults. We understand when some people say I dont like their music because then we understand its because this person has only heard the 3 english songs that were just fun light hearted bops, Dynamite being a sort of tribute to Michael Jackson, Butter being a call back to old school funk, and Permission To Dance as a gift to us Armys during this pandemic. We understand that some people haven't listened to the Korean songs who are really introspective and deep. Like their MOTS album was based on the Swiss psychologist Carl Jung's concepts of the psyche, ego and collective unconscious or that their Wings album was based on the nobel prize winner Herman Hesse's book Demian. Language is a barrier that most people find hard to cross. We also understand that the word K-pop brings to mind manufactured singers to some. When in fact BTS is beyond K-pop and beyond the word boyband. They write and produce their own songs. They are very different from other K-pop acts, because they were given creative freedom to participate over the artistry of their music.

I going to start by saying I'm 56... and I am a Coldplay fan from way back and I am also Army. I discovered BTS by accident and curiosity got me to listen to more, Captions on, from there I was lost. They are fantastic musicians, they can sing, rap & dance,. Their lyrics, often focus on personal and social commentary, touch on the themes of mental health, troubles of school-age youth and coming of age, loss, the journey towards loving oneself, and individualism. Their work also often references literature and psychological concepts and includes an alternative universe storyline. "BTS," actually stands for the words, "Bangtan Sonyeondan," which translates to mean "Bulletproof Boy Scouts." 'Bangtan’ means to be resistant to bullets, so it means to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets, to preserve the values and ideal of today’s adolescents," They started out as a HipHop group in 2013, (they have 3 rappers, 2 of which were from the Korean underground rap scene & 4 Vocalists) but actually cover so many genres of music in addition to HipHop, invluding Pop, EDM, Rap, RnB, Rock, Urban, Trap, Ballads... they say not everyone will like all BTS songs, but there is a BTS song for everyone.
