Palmer and Watkins are a match made in heaven. The two should be first names on the team sheet. Palmer always playing with his head up, and able to play the perfect through ball. Watkins, on the shoulder, anticipating the through ball . The two of them together is a no brainer. Kane has played far too deep all tournament. The midfield have rarely had a chance to break the lines. Cole and Olly for me to start the final will really put yhe pressure on Spain. But what do i know?

The Dutch shut down that position both him and Foden had by packing that midfield and made it a really hard game for us. Cole's impact looked like it was going to be minimal until the assist. He always finds a way to change things.

Englands biggest problem has been lack of balance, with no left sided players. Shaw needs to start, as Tripper looks like a duck out fo water on the left, - Im convinced that if Shaw had started against the dutch with us pressing forward and playing well--we would have been in front by half time, bringing him on in the second half when we had dropped off and sat back did balance the team,, but he would have been far more affective in the first half.

I think he's doing exactly what he needs to do. Coming on as an impact sub and making a difference. Id actually prefer that Southgate does this rather than start him. If he starts and doesn't make as much of an impact, there is no one on the bench that can come on and do what he does.

Cole Palmer passes can easily break defense lines. Southgate needs to introduce him and Watkins as early as 60 minutes if things are not working with his first selection on the final day. I know Kane is highly experienced, but take him off early if he's not contributing much.. Go England, you can do it.

Foden is more technically sound. Palmer has a role but not at the expense of Foden. Can not remove Kane even though he has struggled or Bellingham. Can't remove Mainou... I'd start with a 4 3 3. Bring Shaw left back, leave Rice out, play Palmer/Foden , Mainou Foden/Saka, Bellingham Kane Saka/Foden - Not sure on the exact positions ( Palmer, Foden are versatile ) I think Bellingham and Kane are more dangerous playing on the same line and closer to each other with the space to run on to rather than Kane out on his own. This way, they can defend the middle better and close down the space, especially against Spain, who like to hold the ball and boss the midfield Just my two cents with Palmer role as another attacking option who is quick and tighter in the middle with the 4 3 3

Unless Anthony Gordon is injured he should be utilized against Spain for his speed and ingenuity. Cole did well. *But it was getting rid of that donkey upfront, Kane, and putting Ollie Watkins on that changed the game.* Watkins did something that Kane's not done all tournament. Run in behind the Dutch defence. He did it just the once. Cole passed to him and the rest is history. If Watkins had been on from the beginning, we could have been 3-1 up the time Watkins did score.
