I agree with you graphically, the game looks cool for its age, I met this game much later than its release, but I played a lot in the 3rd part and RBR at that time

Just look at this! I cant bare Rally 2.0 kicking my ass! The shadows the tree's the bumps. CM 2005 had basic global lighting. You could see everything making it easier. In 2005 I could'nt wait for better graphics. Today for me graphics are too much. Today I just play & upload old Codemasters games (that I bought from Steam) from 2008 - 2014.

I noticed the Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2 in this game is underpowered from CMR 4, 550hp on CMR 4 and 450hp on CMR 2005

@@snaildriving I assumed the S1 E2 in CMR 2005 much faster, but funny Codemasters listed this car only got 450hp, while in CMR 4 they listed got 550hp

I think we should not forget that this is an arcade game. Personally, I liked it, but part 4 was better in terms of physics. At that time, who wanted realism played in RBR

@@snaildriving in actual fact, this was considered sim back in the day. Sure, game physics have long since moved on and there are titles out there that are virtually indistinguishable from real life both in terms of visuals and driving feel. But back in the early 2000's Codemasters was seen as one of the big three devs for accessible racing simulation, alongside Polyphony Digital and Studio Liverpool. Just because we're looking back doesn't make it arcade, but rather a product of its time.

@@Nismonath5 no this was still an arcade game even at its release, it was never a simulator. back then there were still actual sim racers you could play instead like richard burns rally and rfactor. richard burns rally is still regarded as the best rally simulator even though it released in 2005
