I really enjoy you and your commentary, it is full of fashion sense and passion. You are the ONLY person, of all the other reactions I watch, that I have sent a comment to. My only wonder is why, when you question if someone is gay in the Bridgerton universe you hold up a limp wrist? This gesture is so 1980’s homophobic/insulting. You did it when discussing Brimsley in Queen Charlotte and again here in season 3 in regard to Benedict. Just say “Is he gay?” It is a valid question within the Bridgerton Universe, with all the societal rules and such. I cannot wait to watch your commentary on the last 4 episodes of season 3!

The way the scene is cut, a lot of people miss the most important part of Colin’s journal, he’s actually talking about how lonely he feels. He’s gotten physically close to women on his travels but, right as he’s walking into the room, Penelope reads that he still feels so distant from the women as well. He’s missing the emotional intimacy, and it shows that at his heart, he’s not a rake. He longs for emotional connection, he can’t do casual sex the way his brothers can. Also, new to the channel and loved your reaction!

I love how much he cares about Penelope. And throughout the series he’s looked for her and wants to be around her. I’m a sucker for a friends to lovers story. He’s always had a place in his heart for Pen all that was missing was the romantic physical attraction. It now as you said clicked for him and the switch happened, the relationship grew.

Colin and Penelope are my favorite couple. Their love story is a slow burn and it’s refreshing to see. I’ve read their book and I will say the show is inspired by the book, but they do take quite a bit from the book and put into this season which I’m glad they did. I can’t wait for part 2 😩😩😩😩😭

I LOVE how this story introduced the Mondrich couple (Will & Alice) into the Ton… real people who have lived & worked OUTSIDE the Ton first of all… who married each other because they actually LIKED each other!… & can hold up a mirror 🪞 to the Ton & reveal how confined & ridiculous they are, with all their rules & restrictions to “maintain genteel nobility” 🙄

im actually so scared for the Lady Whistlwdown reveal, because I'm not ready for Pen to be demonized. don't get me wrong, I know Penelope has done some really messed up things as Lady Whistledown, but its a reaction to all the shit she's been through. her family sucks, none of them root for her and only made her social anxiety and lack of confidence that much worse. especially her mom. she does nothing but talk down to Pen, this is shown in the "Pep talk" Portia tried to give her. and the Ton of course treats her like shit. so yeah Penelope isn't innocent, but she isn't a super villain. In my opinion, she's a product of the mistreatment she faced from everyone

I don't feel that Colin is a rake. A flirt, for sure, but not so much a rake. I think Benedict would be closer to a rake than Colin, and even then I feel like that sort of pushes it since both men are not targeting ladies to ruin and keeping their activities limited to sex workers for the most part. Yes, A drawing room is a living room. The Withdrawing room. As it was the room people would withdraw to from the dining room to digest their meal and entertain with music, books, cards ect.. In the Bridgerton's case, their Drawing room is connected to the Morning room. Which is basically a living room that has great large windows to let in the morning sunlight. This room was usually reserved for the ladies of the house to sit in the mornings to plan their day with the family and staff, write letters, etc.

Benedict is not gay. They just made him a bit more open minded and tolerant than the others. At most they may switch it up and explore him being bi or poly but most likely he will have his same love interest as the book.

Really enjoyed this reaction. This season is deeply personal to me because I am Pen. From the awful way society treated me, to being unwanted and invisible in my family, to having no one in my corner but a male best friend I was deeply in love with, down even to becoming a writer so I could escape ever so briefly all my negative self-talk. I am also slightly taller than Pen’s height and was gifted with an ample chest, which is literally the focus of the only attention I ever got from guys. Attention which was always mocking or derogatory. But unlike Penelope, I had been very sick all my life with a short life-expectancy of my teens, which I miraculously continue to outlive. But it has made me undesirable to be around. Girls torn me down because I looked awful, guys did terribly mean spirited things to me all the time too. No one ever dated me. Or invited me to hang out. I spent my life with one friend. And after a nearly 20 yr friendship with my male best friend, I was at my lowest point in my life, heavily considering you-know-what, just done with society, my family, all of it. And after some devastating health news, I was at rock bottom. When I say I lived this first kiss conversation, I mean it down to my core. I put myself through this moment when I had no hope left. When I wanted just one positive thing… even if I had to plead for it. My conversation with my best friend was exactly the Colin and Pen exchange except I was almost crying and he rejected me. I did not get a kiss. I got told that he wasn’t strong enough to love me knowing he would lose me so he was going to keep his distance and that way he’d only have to mourn me as a friend. So believe me when I say I bawled when Colin actually kissed Pen. I was so happy for her. And so depressed remembering what happened to me. This season may very well break me. Especially if the upcoming intimate scenes in part 2 between Colin and Pen are as genuine and raw as the actors have claimed them to be.

I saw so many people hating on Polin and their love story because of how different it is from previous ones. But for me there is something special about childhood friends growing up together and ultimately experiencing a beautiful (reciprocated) love that is not born simply from sexual tension or longing, but from mutual care, tenderness and familiarity. Colin is a sensitive man and his love for Penelope is all consuming. The friendship, the passion, the intimacy, it will blow our minds in part 2. I think he will be hurt by the Whistledown reveal but he will quickly understand why Pen did it and he will be proud of her wit. He's a writer too in his own way and he sees how clever her writing is. Their marriage will be so wholesome. I've read the book and the show despite being a little different still has the essence of it, and I'm loving the couple on screen. The actors have so much chemistry. In a way, it's a role reversal. We are watching the emotional journey of colin. Usually its the girl in that position. Its pen seducing colin not colin seducing pen. Pen is the more emotionally experienced one while colin is demi-s*xual. The second he kissed the girl he already has an emotional bond with the world opened up for the guy. Yeah in that society the girls aren't taught about s^x and learn it from their husbands. But in a way, emotionally speaking colin is basically penelope's sister. Colin feels a lot in a society that tells men to not feel. He is trying his hardest not to. But that kiss right there was a light bold moment for colin.

I just found your channel and can I just say, you're gorgeous! I'm so glad I've found a new reaction channel to help me get through the wait for part 2. I loved what you were saying about the shift in Colin's feelings for Pen starting in ep 1 at the four seasons ball. I really feel like Colin's already in love with her, he just doesn't realize it yet because the way he behaves around her is so not platonic, it's kinda funny. Even in S2 ep 8, when he takes her hand and brings her into the study to tell her about Cousin Jack's scam, like we saw the effect that had on her, she was like, omg it's finally happening for me. Poor thing, Colin was obviously still a big dummy in S2 lmao. But just in the first couple of episodes of this season, when they shake hands and he holds her hand in both of his, when he puts his hand on her back to bring her to the Bridgerton drawing room. There's always been a natural sort of intimacy between them because of their friendship, that I think he couldn't even recognize the shift into more than platonic territory, until they kiss and his life is forever ruined in the very best way 😆 I also think that when he proposed to Marina in S1 and Anthony was like, "You're still green, you barely know her, you don't know what you're getting into" and Colin was so certain he was in love with her, but it turned out Anthony was right, he didn't know Marina as well as he thought he did. I think that also shook his confidence in his ability to know himself and how he's feeling. Which is what makes the whole Lady Whistledown elephant in the room so painful, because he's known Pen for way longer than he knew Marina, it's gonna hurt him so much more that she's kept this from him. I also think, like we obviously know Pen's put Colin on a pedestal for years and 2x08 was what knocked him off that pedestal and made her realize he's not perfect. I think Colin puts Pen on a pedestal too. Last season he was always talking about how constant and loyal she is. That it's been her this entire time who's written now two articles that have hurt him so deeply and she's hurt Marina and Eloise, as well, is really gonna rattle his perception of her. But I do think they both need those moments where they realize the other isn't perfect, they've made mistakes, but they want to grow from them and to grow together. I also think Pen needs to really confront the hurt she's caused with Whistledown. I think finding out from Colin that Marina seemed content with her life last season, really assuaged any guilt she had about outing Marina's pregnancy. She was obviously trying to save Eloise from the queen's wrath and felt like she was in a situation with no good answers. I think Colin's gonna be the one to force her to reckon with the power and influence she has and how she's been a little reckless with it at times. Or it could also conceivably be a confrontation with Eloise, I suppose? Either way, I hope Whistledown can end up being a great vehicle for character growth for Pen. Sorry for the essay lmao, I obviously love these two and I'm getting v antsy waiting for part 2 and all I wanna do is talk about them haha 😂 Okay, I'm gonna go back and watch your Queen Charlotte reactions now

Some folks were mad she "begged Colin" to kiss her. But I didn't see it as begging. At your lowest point can also be your most courageous. So, without any hope, she REQUESTED that Colin, someone she trusted, to kiss her and he complied. She took ownership of her first kiss. And Colin was floored because he'd never kissed anyone he cared about before. There was that connection he'd been seeking all along. One of the best first kisses every portrayed on the screen.

They made it about Penelope thinking she is unworthy not Colin being a drunk ass and insulting her to eligible bachelors/her chances on the marriage mart. 4.He didn’t bring presents🎁 back for her. So was he even thinking 💭 about her ? At all ? You would think when you’re shopping for presents for everybody someone who special to you would be on your mind to get them something. 5.Colin comes back does the same whoring about the entire time he is teaching Penelope lessons (for weeks apparently) and then kisses her because he feels sorry for her.
