The Dallas Mavericks drop to 0-3 after a 106-99 loss to the Boston Celtics. They held off the Mavs' 21-point fourth-quarter rally. Kyrie Irving scored 35 points, while Luka Dončić had 27 but fouled out with just over four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Luka also ripped the officiating and demanded them to "be better." Colin Cowherd explains how Luka resembles Carmelo Anthony but not in a good way. He also breaks down Boston's dominance and discusses whether a quick Finals is good for the NBA or not.

I wonder when the Media and fanboys will hold Luka accountable for being such a flawed player like people do for every other superstar. People love looking at box scores and believing that if the numbers look good the player must be playing great. I would argue the numbers this series have made Luka look better than he's actually been as far as impact. He's a great scorer but overall player he leaves a lot to be desired. Not complete enough to be a top 5 player imo.

You have Horford and Jrue, two vets who know the game inside and out. The Celtics are playing discipline ball. They are letting a Luka do whatever on offense, but don’t bail him out with fouls. If Lika makes the shot, then he makes it. Closely look at how they are defending him. Luka loves to dip his shoulder and bounce off, fake the far away, dip should again and bounce off, the finally shoot the fadeaway. Boston is just letting him do just that. No fouls. Just let him keep the bounce off, pump fake, bounce off again- fade away. Every single person that guards him does the same thing. That’s coaching and that’s discipline. Then, they are literally seeking him out on offense. Who is Luka guarding, then come here and set this pick so I can get the switch!! Coaching, veteran players, and discipline!!!

Excuses, excuses. The NBA playoffs have been about matchups. The Wolves outmatched the Nuggets, exposing their weaknesses, and the Mavs did the same to the Wolves. NBA often have dynasties because every series is 7 games, there's no fluke or lightning in a bottle. If MLB switches to 7 games in A/NLDS, we should see more dynasties as well, but of course, scheduling will be an issue. I think Celtics not only took advantage of the 3 rebuilding teams, I believe White, Porzingis, Jrue and Horford wanted to be in Boston and forced their way there. Even if their previous teams trade them somewhere else, they'll still end up with the Celtics as FA anyway.

Luka is the definition of a frontrunner. When everything's going good, he's all "intense" and yelling at the crowd and all that. When things go bad, he cries at the refs for EVERYTHING. Dude was literally sitting on the floor throwing his hands around like he was throwing a temper tantrum.

I blame the media, Luka hasn't changed his game. He has always been horrible on the defensive end. Out of shape and wines when he doesn't get calls.. But he's gifted offensively so ESPN, Fox and The TNT crew gave him a pass. He's been 1st team All NBA 5 damm times and can't guard a chair.. Don't blame the child, you shouldn't have rewarded his bad behavior..

Seems like a classic example of moving the goalposts. You, and other media, said Tatum and Brown needed to win it all to be great... Now you're saying they need to win 3 over 10 years and be a dynasty. Also, where did you get the idea that a series needs to go to game 6 to start making money? Do you have a source for that? I'm pretty sure they are making money on every game. Sweeps also lend credence to the idea that basketball is fair instead of rigged to create revenue. That, in itself, creates more interest around the sport.

Jrue/white/tatum/brown will be locked in for the next 3 years minimum soon so that’s what the east will have to get through. Porzingis will be a luxury if he’s able to contribute. I hope he can but I’m very happy with those 4 for the foundation of this team.
