There is significance to the release date on the video. You know how Knox is with history. Minutemen were the militia in colonial Boston during the American Revolution. Also, the Boston Massacre (which occurred on March 5, 1770) was a key point that lead to the Revolution. Guy named Henry Knox was involved, and it happened on King Street.

I've listened to a bit of Knox, but not very much. This was definitely the best thing I've ever heard from him, so I'm about to type too many words about something that I haven't heard any reactors talking about with this song. There are three different uses of the phrase "My Time" that all come into play throughout this song: 1) "My time to shine" (Knox brings this one up explicitly saying "shine" in his first verse) 2) "Doing my time" (talking about the prison system) 3) "My time is up" (talking about death) I feel like the bars related to that third interpretation have gotten less recognition in the reactions I've watched, but to me they were some of the best and really bring the whole song together. Knox brings up Icarus in the first verse. Icarus was the character from Greek mythology who flew too close to the sun on wings made of wax, which melted and he fell to his death. So even when Knox brings up his focus on the "shine", that fits interpretations (1) AND (3), because he's also metaphorically equating himself with Icarus, and seeking out the shine is approaching too close to the sun. Wings made of wax = records recorded on wax is a nice touch, I'm almost surprised there wasn't a more direct bar about it. Folding in some of the story told in Family Curse, it's like Knox is wondering whether seeking out his "time to shine" with his music might somehow lead to his own downfall. In the third verse, Knox tells the story of a family member(?) whose "liver failed" but "habit didn't" leading to their death. He laments that he didn't have an intervention to stop them earlier. But in the same verse, I think he equates making his own music to an addicting drug. He ends the verse with "pass the music, I'm lit when I'm rapping to it....breathe", directly referring to music as his drug. "Breathe" here calls back to just before the Michigan bar, when he said "breathe, take a hit again". At that point, he's just told the story of his family member, but this line is said to himself, telling himself to pause and process his grief/trauma by making more music. That may sound therapeutic, but in context it's put in parallel with an addiction and it's part of the overarching story in which Knox is Icarus and making music is his attempt to fly closer to the sun.

Since nobody said this yet, I love this format of reacting. At first you get genuine reaction, as you hear it originally, as it was intended to be listened to and then go into more detailed breakdown. A lot of reactors jump straight to a review/breakdown, so they miss out on flow switches or lines/words/bars connecting with each other and so on. And like you said, not everyone is interested in hearing breakdown, as they can hear it from many reactors and just want to see the initial reaction of others. And like lyrical rap is my favorite, Em is my favorite and i could hear the technical capabilities of knox but the listenability of it wasn't there for me personally. But this verse was incredible.
