Collage fun 2a: Collage dolls process video

Collage (to glue) is versatile artform where you can use the ‘stuff’ you have on hand to create wonderful works of art. This video shows how I gather pictures from magazines and put them together to create mini collage art dools. Stay tuned for part 2 ( • Collage fun 2b: Using ... ) which shows you how I store the collage pieces and create a layout with them!

I've only just recently started cutting up images from magazines to one day use in my art journal. Makes me feel like a kid again! haha Thanks for showing us your process of putting all those crazy pieces together to make an art page.

Love seeing other people's process with collage! Fussy cutting is my favorite thing to do at night in bed and it's so relaxing. But then I'm buried in my craft room with images😂

Lol - glad I'm not the only one. I've found though recently I will only cut out enough to do a few dolls at a time - then I make myself use it all up before cutting again. It helps a little - but then again - I have so much other stuff in my craft room - its like a drop in the ocean :)

Love making collage dolls ,I find them a good creative activity on days my mojo is AWOL.I must have one of the few op shops that give away most of their mags and last year scored 3 flow mags for free...

This is amazing! I do almost the same thing. I also go to second hand shops and buy old books for my collages but I always feel so bad cutting them up 😭 I found what helps me is I keep the book for about a week and really look at it and appreciate it....then I cut it up lol Anywho TUFS! 😊☺😃

Thank you for watching - Collage is very addictive. I don't mind sitting up magazines, I sometimes struggle with books though :)

I'm using food labels for my doll's dresses, and get arms and legs out of women's clothing catalogs and putting my face through a photo booth app. I found on Picasso website, ""Maya with her Doll, 1938 by Pablo Picasso"

I think what she was eluding to was how you super fast forwarded through your selection process thinking we might not want to see the detail of that part. I think it would help tremendously if you would flip through the magazine pages and show the sort of things that you look for AS you are flipping so we can help train our eye. I never would've thought to use a milk shake as a body! PLEASE do more of this type of video! I really enjoy watching you place the items together as you were creating.
