Benefits of Playing Chess:

- Increases problem-solving skills
- It exercises both sides of the brain
- Raises your IQ
- Sparks your creativity

- Optimizes memory improvement
- Improves recovery from stroke or disability
- Helps treat ADHD
Chess is an intellectual battle where players are exposed to numerous mental processes such as analysis, attention to detail, synthesis, concentration, planning and foresight. Psychological factors are also present on and off the board; playing Chess stimulates our imagination and creativity. Every single move a player makes is the result of a deep analysis based on the elements presented on the battlefield.
Chess in its essence teaches us psychological, sociological and even moral values. In a Chess game, both players start with the same amount of material and time. The fact that the white pieces move first is considered to be practically irrelevant -especially because a player typically plays one game as white and one game as black. Consequently, the final result of the battle solely depends on each player. It doesn’t matter if you win by taking advantage of your opponent’s mistakes or by simply avoiding mistakes yourself. Truth is that Chess is an extremely individual sport and our defeats can only be blamed on ourselves and no one else. And this, in the end, only benefits us because we learn to be and feel responsible for our actions and never come up with excuses to justify ourselves.
We also learn that when it comes to our victories on the board, our opponent's mistakes play a more significant role than our own skills. Let’s not forget that a Chess game without any mistakes would be a draw. This way, Chess provides us with another valuable life lesson: be humble at all times.

@@nrmz22 yes i understand the imoprtance of time (tempi) inchess thanks to his strategics video the gain in tempi is like a gain in meterials, with positions in the development in openings etc, and that the first army which is complete in the field has a materials advantage because the other pieces of the opponent are still blocked and not yet developed etc., and that you can slow down the opponent by attacking the first, by threatening etc, this is why we must not make unnecessary moves in the opening, and gain tempi, if we just have a small advantage of tempi, we can slow down the opponent even more by threatening for example a piece that 'he has just developed, and that he has to re-move it another time etc etc, and like that we gain tempi by tempi, and at the end we will have more pieces on the chessbord, and his pieces will be blocked and not developed and therefore as if they were not there, and that you had a material advantage in the chessboard, and therefore you could even sacrifice etc, because you have a material advantage because most of his pieces are blocked as if they were not there, this is the importance of tempi and time in chess, and so you are lost of the time in a wining position, , that's why the GMs sometimes bet on the tempi with gambit than the materials, really I learned a lot about each of his lessons and personal advice, that NM Robert Ramirez tell me, I saw all the videos of the channel, and again I see them again to revise, and in a short time I have improved a lot, good luck with your chess dude and enjoy :)

Finally, a KZfaq chess teacher who clearly explains the way to really learn an opening. Way too many players from beginner to club level think they should memorize a multitude of lines, only to become lost as soon as their opponent deviates from those lines. The method you describe is golden for all of us rated below 2000, or maybe even 2200: know the first few moves and the pawn structures and plans from there. Then just play chess. Thank you for this valuable insight.

Dude, today was my national tournament and my last game was the one where if I won I would qualify. My opponent definitely studied me so I know to change a colle system line. AND I CHECKED OUT YOUR VIDEO. I used something super similar to your first game, and it worked. I won in around 30 moves and I was putting pressure like you told me too. I watch a lot of other chess youtubers but you seem like the nicest and best teacher. I wish you to keep thriving and making content like these. Good Luck and thank you so much!

Really liking this system! I've mainly been using the opposite side castle idea with the London, but have been getting tripped up by my opponents recently. This Colle has been a fantastic addition and the 2 Bishops lined up looking at the King side then sliding the Queen over has made for some really nice attacks. I also like how, similar to your Pirc/KID set ups, you really can use it against virtually anything Black plays. I hope you do more on this system... I've been looking at some of the GM games and DAMN can you say double Bishop sacrifice ftw!!! Mind.. Blown!!!

Another brilliant lesson thank you very much coach. I don’t normally like d4 openings but I liked the look of this one and thought I’d give it a go…practiced on the bots first til I was familiar with it then had a go in a blitz game and won first go. I’m pretty certain I won’t win every time I use it but it’s another one for my repertoire…thanks again.

This opening looks like the London System, except the C1 B is fianchettoed instead of developed to f4, and seems to provide the same dual option of either launching a fierce K-side attack or playing more positionally maneuvering in the center. It also looks like you could transpose into this after starting with 1.Nf3, so adding this to one's repertoire would be pretty straightforward if you're already playing the Kings Indian Attack some fo the time. It also conceptually reminds me of the difference between the Czech Pirc and the Pirc, where the B is fianchettoed in the latter system but not the first. Is there a reason for teaching/training purposes that you recommend the non-fiachetto opening be learned first, followed by a similar system that adopts a fianchetto at a later point in time?

I have played thousands of games in this exact position. An early a3 for white is often needed if the black Knight is on c6, preventing Nb4 attacking whites bishop on d3. Black's most aggravating setup involves g6, Bg7, and 0-0. Studying the games of GMs Yusupov and Kovacevic are a good start.

I really like the zukertort opening but what if black fianchetto his dark squared bishop in 3rd or 4th moves after we play e3? Since we block our dark squared bishop with the pawn, i generally have a problem in that kind of situation. And also our valuable light's squared bishop's diagonal is closed in that way. What should be our response?

It was Bishop f5 that gave or is giving me the trouble, I have found the counter, c4, I just played a game, I lost because I had made a blunder, did not do h3, allowing my pawn on h2 to be taken and that really caused problems, I fought back but in the end I was check mated. could not castle. nice system, I went ahead and play blitz in lichess (lichess allows you to always choose white) with the Ne5 variation. I'm happy with the win rate and I like how the middlegame often feels like a tactics puzzle/exercise 🤣 Is this a standalone video on this system or are you going to make a series like KID and Pirc? One variation that confuses me so far is can you still go with the Ne5 plan if the opponent pins the knight with Bg4? I found the usual tricks (Be2 unpinning, h3 challenging the bishop, or moving the queen to another diagonal) all interfere with the usual plan of playing f4 followed by quickly bringing the rook and queen out)

Great video @NMRobertRamirez! I played a few games with that system but found that the black pawn on d5 blocking white's d4 pawn can often make the bishop on b2 unusable, what is the best way to put that bishop in play or remove the d4 pawn (when it cannot make the obvious dxc5 capture)?
@rinamazumder6408

There is a maneuver of the dark squared bishop Bb2-Bc1-Bd2-Be1-Bh4 , I have seen some good playing this maneuver and you can also play c4 and sometimes e4 breaking the position and lastly, dxc5 is not a bad move dxc5 can be played in the colle zukertort and even in many positions it is the best move in the colle zukertort.😊

I have been playing this a lot since watching this, and get quite a lot of success. But it really doesn't seem to work against KID, or any fiancetto variation. 1.d4 Nf6 (I know what their plan is) 2.e3 g6 3.Nf3 bg7. If I complete the colle system and castle short it is kind of pointing at a target that is hard to reach. Would you transpose to a different opening if they play Nf6 as their first move?

A must-have book for this opening is "Grigory Bogdanovich, The Zukertort System: A Guide for White and Black " Even the introduction is interesting as it explains it's scope, namely that this system assumes black plays ...e6 and ...c5. So it's not a "system for all" like the London. Zukertort doesn't work for: a) KID-ish setups b) Black plays early ...Bf5 or ...Bg4 c) Black plays c6 (Slav / Semi-Slav) Colle-system (instead of Zukertort) works a bit better against KID but better is to go for mainline against the KID.. Against he popular Slav/semi-Slav the Zukertort is problematic too, so best is not be afraid and go for sharp Moskov variation. Most club players prep for Meran mostly. I know people seek simple formulas but this is reality. Get the book. Cheers!

@@NMRobertRamirez Or an alternative is also to buy the book "Zuke 'em: The Colle-Zukertort Revolutioqized by David Rudel". This book goes seriously into alternatives where the Zukertort variation of the Colle doesn't work. Peronally, Robert, I'm not a fan of teaching people a Pilsbury (d4-e3-f4 + Ne5) setup against a g6-setup (KID, Grünfeld). But I still love you (like in Bro-love, not man-love lol).

Been trying this opening a lot in Blitz and one variation black uses is the "Anti Colle". (1.d4 d5, 2.Nf3 Nf6, 3.e3 then black plays Bf5.. blocking off the intended diagonal of the Colle bishop). From there, the main line seems to be Nh4, then black plays the bishop back to g6. Trading the pieces off leaves black with the open file for the rook on h8, and it can get untidy. Black cant castle easily, but white wont want to castle short either. Any tips? Do you avoid this trade?
