The custom built and painted RS3 1201 Lulubell was sent to collect freight cars that were spotted round the RR before an approaching storm. The cars stay out year round but when a storm comes they are brought to one of two yards to give them a bit of protection from the weather. Happy RRing!

In the warmer season I run several times per week. Today it was 40 degrees and I was out there for an hour. In the Winter I'm usually tinkering on a train project and if we get snow I will be out there plowing with the trains.

I love the rustic wildness of this layout, no trim garden beds and flower gardens, just wild, unkept plants, hanging tree branches, dirt, dust, spider webs, etc. Makes it so authentic, even the rail cars are all dusty and messy, so realistic. Nice job!

I often visit Craig at his SEASIDE HOBBIES store in Ocean View, Delaware. He has a large scale train layout set up and running outside of his store. That train runs every day when he is open (everyday except Sunday & Monday). That train of his runs absolutely fine, through sun and rain and even during the occasional snowstorm. I'm a Lionel guy, but you and Craig sure make a compelling argument for running BIG Trains... and outdoors too. Thanks for posting.

@@CapeCodTrainTodd .....how do you keep up with track cleaning? Do you have a secret way that is not so time consuming?
@CapeCodTrainTodd
@CapeCodTrainTodd 4 жыл бұрын
No secrets. Track does not need to be scrubbed shiny to work you only have to get junk off of it. On my RR the junk is often pollen and tree sap. The first run of the day is with my rail broom that tosses leaves, twigs etc off the track. Check out my video "G scale rail sweeper" to see it. If an engine stutters it is usually a combination of dirty wheels and track. For the track I use a green scotchbrite pad on a pole sander. For the wheels I use a paper towel with goo gone. See my video "how to clean wheels on your large scale train". All my trains have metal wheels which helps. The more you run the cleaner your track will stay.

"CCTT" : VERY well done video. 'Liked the camera work, the scenery, the editing. Hell, I like the whole thing! Quite the labor of love you've got there. Looks like AristoCraft, USA Trains, and LGB, etc are all well represented. Your MOW crews must be extremely busy. Keep up the good work and keep those rails shiny !!! A+++ Thumbs up & subscribed!

Absolutely love this layout. Inspiring. We are RVers and would love to see it in our travels one day. GREAT JOB! I am starting on mine soon. I have about 75 of track though and only one 22.5 degree right turn out after 5 years of bidding on eBay LOL. I bought a Norfolk Southern Dash 9 16 years ago new for $315. Now way over $600. Got 15 rolling stock. Again EXCELLENT! Subscribed, Liked and rang 🛎

It stinks to know you had someone who has total disregard for the love of trains and ALL that goes into building such a time consuming layout and not to mention the cost in creating such a layout and to have them comit a fellony with arson on that back portion of your layout. It took a real Ars to do that. (Funny how the two words are almost identical. Ars/Arson..).hope you have servelance cameras up now and catch those responsible. Thanks Dave. I say go for it. You don't have to have hundreds of feet of track to have fun with the hobby. I started in 2007 with 125' of track and a LGB starter set before expanding to what you see today. What is good about G scale is if you buy them right, 90% of mine are preowned, you can always resell them for the same and sometimes more.
