After giving a high school graduation speech titled "You Are Not Special", David McCoullough Jr's life changed. Now, hear him talk about his school experiences.
David McCullough, Jr., an English teacher at Wellesley High School in the Boston suburbs, achieved sudden fame in 2012 with his commencement speech. He told graduating students, “you’re not special” nine times, and his speech went viral on KZfaq.

Mr. McCullough may not be a polished speaker, but that actually enhances his stories that lead up to a powerful message. Very much appreciate that he gave this talk. I hope many will take what he said to heart.

+Jay Gryska That's awesome! In Public Speaking we watched his graduation speech because our next assignment is one as well. It was incredible! Honest, thoughtful, and incredibly deep.

He used to teach at Punahou High School in Honolulu, Hawaii in the 1980's. We all look a little older. Such is life.

Why is it called college 101 tho?

He means that you need to struggle through college, or at least struggle in the beginning of life to learn to get the knowledge for yourself, when in college.
