Hey everyone,
So recently, I was notified that I got off the waitlist for the Residential Assistant (RA) Position at Purdue and would be RA at Wiley Hall (2nd floor Northwest). As much as I was thrilled, I was thrown off guard because I only had a day to pack and move, plus, I had to be flexible and switched the topic of this week's video with next week's. But the good thing is that it all worked out, and I'm very excited for the RA training and BGR (Purdue Boiler Gold Rush) training.

A heasup: I've been at Purdue all summer taking classes, I simply moved to another dorm for this incoming year (Residential assistant at Wiley Hall)

My daughter is (was) a freshmen last year, and despite all of the mast "stuff" she had a great time, and loved Purdue as much as I loved Wisconsin back in the 80s. She made the right decision, her dad's Alma Mater was not for her, and quite frankly had I seen Purdue before Wisconsin, I might have made a different decision. Amazing school and love West Laf. Now don't get me wrong, my UW experience was awesome, but love what my daughter is getting at Purdue. I wish you all the best experience, and make of it what you can. The real world sucks, enjoy what you have now regardless of the "rules".

I’m glad to hear your daughter has had a good time last year. I know it was different and stress for a lot of us so it’s good to see her thriving. I agree, Purdue community is the one-and-only. You don’ get the same atmosphere and the close-knitted community elsewhere

@@HarryHTF 4th floor. I don't know which side, but he is interested in Aerospace engineering. He is dabbling in graphic arts for fun. He is interested in possibly joining a fraternity. He wants to check it out. His name is Evan. He is an Eagle Scout and I thought of him when I saw your hiking video. Lol

Wiley, as far as I'm aware, has always been all-male. There was a year or two before I came to Purdue where they made it temporarily co-ed

I was an RA in Wiley NW3 in the early 90s. What floor are u on? I think my name is still on the door. Good luck with being an RA. Go Wiley! Enjoyed this video 🙂

@@HarryHTF Mulchandani. My room is probably just above yours. No roommates for RAs in those days. If you have a good group of RAs and guys on the floor, it far outweighs no AC. Although I hear it’s been HOT!

Hey Harry, I'm a rising junior at Purdue and I was wondering how hard is it to become an RA? I have been off campus for the last 2 years, but am thinking about moving back on campus for senior year and being an RA would be perfect for that.

Hi Harry, we also arrived Purdue, dining at Wiley Court..my son will join BGR next week..would you know where Freshman BGR where and what time to start..as we can’t find BGR schedule info. Please advise..

Nope not really haha, wander around cqmpus a bit before that just to gwt used to it beforehand. Talk with people you see, other than that, stay excited for BGR
