Pro tip: do curbside or delivery groceries for good when you move-in. Also do this for any little items you may have forgotten. The stores will always be PACKED at move-in time!

I have a full size. Twin comforters are not big enough to wrap entire body in. Size matters

@@katieknight7021 they fit around your body better. If you lift your bed and put things under neath it will cover everything under there up. It kinda just gives an overall better look.

I agree I did this and loved it! plus if you move to an apartment later on the bed will probably be a full/queen and you can use the same comforter if you want

I got the $20 room essentials comforter and didn’t like the texture, it was like really itchy when I tried to sleep lol. Also another tip is to not buy too many school supplies before you get your syllabuses. Most of your schoolwork will probably be online. I just finished my freshman year and am so excited for you to move onto an exciting chapter :)

With the med kits, I just bought a pencil pouch and then bought the things that I would need. I plan to put like ibuprofen and Tylenol in them along with feminine products and thought it would be a much easier way to carry around the things I may need. Small enough to fit in my bag and not full of stuff I may not even use ^^

a few of my out-of-state friends who traveled by plane had their parents ship out their dorm stuff to avoid needing to take it on the plane! that could also be an option maybe? congratulations on graduating and beginning this journey! :^)

A tip I heard is that just use push pins to hang things and then fill the wholes with soap, or cover with whiteout at the end of the year. The command strips can rip the cheap paints off the walls

girl i have adhd and can barely focus on something for a minute, let alone 25, but i stayed completely entertained throughout the entire video!!! i love your personality. as a junior in high school this was so fun to watch and made me excited for my turn to shop!

I would recommend not buying command strips because dorms have super cheap paint and it WILL rip the paint, so use them thumb tacks and maybe poster putty to hang things. I have seen the hack to try to use a bar of soap to fill in the thumb tack holes but not sure if it works.

my roommate freshman year was out of state and i def recommend buying stuff online and having it shipped to your dorm! unless you know your move in date is early, def don’t just buy stuff once you get there cause that stuff is wiped out within a day. i had to go to a store 20 miles away from my campus just to find anything

Contact your school to see when the mail room opens! I moved cross country for school and shipped everything to campus so I didn’t have to worry about traveling via plane with my stuff. Also I suggest getting a duvet and buying duvet covers that way you can change the color each year and it’s easier to wash!

my tip is to bring more than 2 sheet sets! bring like 3-4 because usually college laundry sucks to do and it doesn’t clean your stuff as well. Then you can bring your dirty pile home to wash or go to a laundromat. Also white is fantastic but your bed is your command center in a dorm so you’ll eat, lounge, sleep, etc on there so be careful!

I have horrible social anxiety so I avoid going to stores during the busy times but I’m also an out of state student this year and I’m getting most of my things on Amazon! I have found all my bedding so far, I find it easier to match things for themes!

86 degrees in phoenix this morning! Isolated thunderstorms just north of phoenix! Saw lightning in those clouds but that was it! Highs today still muggy and got at 107 degrees but another chance of storms tonight!

As an out of state student myself, I totally understand it can be hard to shop for your dorm. I 10000% recommend Bed Bath & Beyond's college pack & hold to buy stuff ahead of time but have it waiting for you in your college area!

@@ashleighlobo Yeah! I probably shouldn't say but I'm going to IUS. I don't expect you too though, considering you'd probably want your privacy. They did NOT give a good packing list and so I went to target when the 25 percent off deals hits. Anything I don't need I'll return. I live in KY now so it's not that big of a deal for me, but oh my God, NO ONE goes to Indiana for anything apparently and it's lowkey stressing me out. Supposedly someone from my high school is going too but I don't know him and haven't got the courage to ask yet. Either way, good luck and best wishes. College seems to be a lot.

Get the cheap white one: your first year you might not have time to wash it so many times, to keep it clean, to show it off that much. I’d say get the cheaper white if you’re getting white at all and if it lasts maybe for sophomore-senior year you should get the dormify one

A heads up! You should buy a towel to sleep on or just a smaller blanket when you are on your shark week because it is really hard to get the stains out of white comforters 😅 Also would you do a school supply shopping/haul video, or are you not doing that anymore since you're in college? Love ya :)

Hydrogen peroxide is great at getting the stains out in a pinch! Put it on, wait 5-10, rinse and wash :)

Advice from a senior in college and RA (Resident assistant). Don’t buy your textbooks till you know and if you can rent on Amazon or find a pdf do that! -$1 dollar flips are good for shower shoes -when packing hanging clothes usually wrap a trash bag around it -mesh shower bags -get small white mesh bags for laundry. It will keep your socks, underwear, and bras from being lost. -scented laundry beads because the drier just suck out the scent of your laundry. -Get a lamp. Dorm lighting is horrible! -mini fridge with a separate freezer portion -extra long charger -led lights will rip paint off recommend Christmas lights with medium clear command hooks

i had the same kind of dilemma with comforters but my bed is a twin xl so I went cheaper because I don't want to spend a lot of money on something I prob won't use in one-year later bc of the size. look for something other than dormify they hike up the prices. But you should return the cheap comforter it has really bad reviews and doesn't wash easily.
