Canes built in rivals in Big 10. Penn State , Nebraska and Ohio State. Also add Washington from back in the day and Wisconsin of recent past.

As a K-State fan I prefer the SEC over the Big Ten if we end up in the P2. Overall, I prefer K-State to remain in the Big 12. I would like to see the Big 12 pick up some ACC schools if/when their conference implodes to shore up the eastern side of the conference. The Big 12 may not be rich, but we certainly make enough to be considered upper middle class in this brave new world of college athletics.

Me etheir no desire to see a power 2 I hate conference realignment but it’s the sad reality of football as everything is drove by money now.

If K-State and KU end up in the P2, K-State would be more likely to go to the SEC and KU to the Big Ten. The ACC could collapse long before 2036. The top 4-6 brands would end up in the Big Ten and SEC. The Big 12 could go for the best of the rest (e.g., Louisville, Pitt, VT, and NC State).

You do realize conference being regional was thrown out the window a lot time ago so using your theory yours in reality is the one thats outdated.Number one we don’t need all of those teams we only need Clemson and one Florida school and one North Carolina and Virginia team we don’t need to get everyone team in the region we will expand out west to schools like Arizona , Colorado ,Utah or Kansas because one thing guys then forgot their in their different time zones and that can get more tv revenue from those fanbase out west too and gain more money because this is all about money.

3.5 million people is hardly an "insignificant" market. Denver is even larger.

In UCLA and USC they added the #2 market, Rutgers #1 market, Maryland the #8 market, Washington the #12, Oregon the #22 but no pro team to compete with. So it isn’t just market size it is market potential. Oregon the market is small but Oregon football dominates it and they have more of a national following than Utah or Colorado. I think they would have taken Cal and Standord before Utah or Colorado.
