It’s a “prove it” year for our team, and Beamer. We love the guy, because he’s one of our own, and he’s done a hell of a job on the recruiting trail and building the culture. However, anything worse than 7-5 will have him put into a lame duck season, come 2025, and then we’ll be back out in the wilderness. We have talent, and yes while it may not be stellar, if you’re comparing us to UGA, it should be enough to get 6-9 wins, if the chips fall the right way. If it doesn’t, we can quickly surmise reasons why, and right off the bat it’ll be his subpar hiring on offense. Best wishes to my guys. 🐔 🤙

Only 2 games on OU's schedule that I don't think they win is Auburn and Ole Miss. I don't know what Ole Miss will be. Auburn is already treating the OU game as the most important one on their schedule over Alabama (which I think is absurd), and thats on the road early in the season, so...

@@bobbysmith3196 Here the deal, Oklahoma has recruited well but now that we have a transfer portal we don't to play and develop young talent. So we get guys from the portal, who get the development and go pro, then the guys we initially recruited have to play. All the offensive linemen Oklahoma recruits are talented but they have not played. They have been in the room learning, feeling some kind of way because they were recruited to play, but they had to wait, yet learning from the guys in the room. They are ready and these are talented kids. However, they have got to be a little upset they were overlooked for who kids who didn't choose to play at Oklahoma. A classic example would be the Brandon Hickman v Josh Bates; no question Hickman is experienced and a skilled technician but Bates is a powerful raw dog 💪 ready to tear something up but must take a back to the transfers portal. Next year you can question his inexperience all you want to but he is ready to play right now. Did that help

As an OU fan you should be used to it lol. We don't pay the media for positive press. To quote Teddy Lehman "Paid for propaganda". It's the only explanation. Texas had 1 good year in the last dozen and they for some reason think they will do it again next year. That was Sark's first 10 win season ever, and this is his 3rd major head coaching job. It's possible Texas has a decent season but history says it's unlikely.

If it goes by strength of schedule a 9-3 Oklahoma or Florida should get in over a 9-3 Tennessee or Alabama.

I don't think that will be possible. Both Alabama and Tennessee don't have a schedule that can support losing to 3 teams if one of the losses isn't to OU. Which means OU would have wins over Alabama and Tennessee and also probably be 9-3.

My gators going 8 and 4 or 7 and 5 . If we don't makea bowl game this year Billy's seat would be on fire . And i don't see that happening this year. We have the toughest schedule in collage football . Our defense is a lot better this year i promise you thats what killed us last year .

Keep in mind that Florida was 5-2 before their 5 game losing streak... So they could do something.... As a Florida fan do I think they will? Hell the fuck no, but if players play like the stars we think they might be, I.E. Mertz, Wilson, Dike, Badger, James, etc... we could maybe get to 9-3 or 8-4... Again IFFFF

This. Recency bias or not, a 9-3 record with losses to UGA (neutral site) and Texas & FSU (both away) with the agreed-upon difficulty of our schedule - I'd be shocked if UF doesn't make the playoffs. (if UGA, Texas, and FSU are no-more-than 1-loss teams)

A 9-3 SEC team would get in the playoff lets say over an undefeated ACC team thanks to Herbstreit and ESPN. Those two determines who gets in the playoff now. The playoff means nothing now and has lost all credibility after last year.

I'm in the Big Ten and I don't see the SEC wasting a playoff slot on a 9-3 OU. They have an 0-4 playoff record. Sankey wants to show dominance and OU will not contibute to that.

The conference has no say in who goes to the playoffs. Oklahoma was out matched defensively, but they have mostly fixed that issue.

You must not know CFB very well and google that. One conferences don't have a say in who goes two the playoffs and two OU has a completely different coaching staff and play style then they did all 4 of those playoffs games.

No, no, and no. I don't care if they turn out to be blow-outs, but I'll take 11-2/12-1 G5 champs over 9-3 teams. The only teams that should remotely be given an outside shot would be 10-2 teams that narrowly loses a CCG to an elite team. And it's really sad that you included a "if (Crooked) Kirk can convince people" line because the rankings are corrupt beyond belief at this point. These fifth-place SEC teams shouldn't earn the third/fourth chances with a playoff birth, they should rightfully be placed in the Outback Bowl. Make the regular season matter.
