Another reason it is called death valley is due to the sound level during games. One of the loudest stadiums in the world. Edit: As people in comments mentioned, it is also called deaf valley. Deaf valley being the original name until 1959. I've always heard both, but mostly I hear death valley. Doesn't matter, point is it's loud af.

It was actually called "Deaf Valley", they changed it for the movie "Everybody's all American" and never changed it back.

Propurty I heard a story that a journalist called it “Deaf Valley” while on camera in the stadium. Ironically, people couldn’t understand him fully and thought he said “Death Valley”. 👍

Damn COVID. My mates and I were going to tailgate at the Texas vs LSU game. LSU fans are pretty Damn cool. I had the chance to hang out with some back in '05 when they stomped Miami in the Peach Bowl.

Cane's is amazing. Once in a while, you'll get a garbage batch, but it's the best by far. I happen to work near two of them, so it's always accessible.

Definitely not a family atmosphere on game day. I was there in 2013 for a football game as an opposing fan. The moment we stepped out of our car, LSU fans were yelling at us. It seems to be a tradition to scream “tiger bait” in opposing fans’ faces. Also, we definitely got a few “fuck you” comments from students. I’ve traveled all over the country following college football teams, and LSU was by far the least friendly. I won’t go back.
