By all means, let's ridicule a Republican congresswoman for asking incisive questions, rather than college presidents for giving indefensible answers.

@@seanmobley2610 I watched the whole thing. The caricature of Rep. Stefanik was far more extreme and mocking than that of the college presidents. This is notable because in the actual hearing, Stefanik asked incisive (if sometimes flawed) questions, whereas the college presidents gave morally indefensible answers.

Someone needs to make a sketch about SNL writers. Scenario - SNL writers mocking Germans who were against the Nazis from coming to power. The person questioning the Nazis would ask "Would the Holocaust be bad for the Jewish population?" However, the Nazis answer of "it depends on the context" wouldn't be the defining moment. Because the media just clipped out the section where he said there were good people on both sides and played it ad nauseum, no one realized he said in the next sentence that he was not talking about the white supremacists, which he totally condemned. Would he have really said the Antifa people were good? Good people on both sides meant the numerous normal people against the statue because it is a painful reminder of the past and the other side who were for history being preserved so we can learn from it. Thank you for the best comment here among too many who seem unclear as to what happened in Congress, namely that Ms. Stefanik represented the best of America with her courage of conviction and moral clarity conveyed in her questions. The comments here for the most part give the impression that too many have no idea what actually happened in Congress and that they regard SNL as somehow being a worthy source of information through humor rather than another biased propaganda outlet saturated in Leftist bias. That their brand of "humor" was obviously meant to be derived from ridiculing Ms. Stefanik who was clearliy condemning anti-Semitism and calling out those University Presidents who fail to do the same, the propaganda and lies of the mainstream Leftist media continues to march on. Those not seeking the actual truth from mainstream liberal media outlets enable unfortunately.

I get what they were trying to do, or at least I think so. The point of the sketch was to "both sides" the issue by portraying both parties as equally incompetent. HOWEVER, that doesn't work when one side is asking simple yes or no questions about the topic of antisemitism and the other is refusing to properly answer. To be clear, I am a liberal Democrat, and I do not align ideologically with Representative Stefanik. However, even I will say that the notion of her being just as incompetent as the people refusing to outright condemn antisemitic behavior is a false equivalency. If they wanted to portray Stefanik in an exaggerated and comedic manner, that's fine, but they should have done so in a way that makes it clear that it's the college professors who we're supposed to be laughing at, not the Congress Members. There's a difference between satire and being the thing you claim to be making fun of, and sketches like this, for all intents and purposes, are a prime example of being the thing.

This sketch is an INSTANT CLASSIC SNL sketch. Not because of how good it was, but because it was one of SNL's greatest flubs. It's gonna be right up there with the likes of: musical guest Ashlee Simpson getting caught lip-synching to the wrong song, Chris Farley's Bennett Brauer character flying on Weekend Update but the wires got tangled up, and of course Charles Rocket and Jenny Slate dropping their respective F-bombs.

Let's change the narrative here." "Oh, she was, like, totally insufferable! I mean, she's a republican, so she doesn't really care for jews, right?" @@willowtree9900Marxism Article Talk Language Watch Edit For the political ideology commonly associated with states governed by communist parties, see Marxism-Leninism. Marxism is a political philosophy and method of socioeconomic analysis that uses a materialist interpretation of historical development, better known as historical materialism, to understand class relations and social conflict and a dialectical perspective to view social transformation. It originates from the works of 19th-century German philosophers Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. As Marxism has developed over time into various branches and schools of thought, no single, definitive Marxist theory exists.[1] Marxism has had a profound impact in shaping the modern world, with various left-wing and far-left[2][3][4] political movements taking inspiration from it in varying local contexts

@@idesofmarchUNIAEA i think SNL has shilled themselves out to the Democratic party's elite one too many times to be considered far-left/marxist in anyway. I mean, they had Kate McKinnon singing Hallelujah in their 2016 cold open because Hilary Clinton lost an election that she had zero chance of winning anyways. They've pretty squarely positioned themselves as very dramatic, annoying, pompous, spineless *liberals,* but not leftists, in my opinoin. I don't think SNL has the guts to take a principled stand on anything like a more radical marxist would, cuz they would prob lose money doing so and they are pretty loyal to their corporate sponsors, which most socialists & communists aren't big fans of lol. Case and point, this horrendous sketch they fumbled through bc they couldn't decide what questionable morals they should adhere to, so they took some weird middle ground and now nobody, left or right, is happy. A Marxist rendition of this sketch would probably say the whole congress is right-wing, genocidal maniacs, which idk if u agree or disagree with, but regardless, that would certainly be a more firm, leftist stance than whatever wishy-washy shit they did here.
