The power in this cover is astounding! Colm, Jonathan, and Bobby killed it . . . I was shocked that Eric Holloway wasn't involved. 🤯

Eric's good by himself, but IMO he's not the best at blending with other voices, and sometimes his pitch can be off, too.

You ought to check out some of Clamavi De Profundis LOTR/Hobbit songs because if you think the dragons singing will melt your face then Clamavi is likely to either do the same or bring a tear to the eyes. Another good reaction to one of my favorite dwarven songs, dude and I'm very glad Colm (along with Jonathan and Bobby) did their version of it - it's very much going into my playlist!

Dude your talking voice is already deep as hell. With a little training you eeeeeasily can hit this low notes too. After that you can join the dragon council.

Agreed. Dave speaks low Cs at times. Maybe it's a chest fry mix for him, though. That would explain why he may not be able to sing that low.

I will say, you should definitely hear the Clamavi de Profundis version of the song. It's almost more mournful, in a sense, when given into context that Moria/Khazad-Dum was not only an important home/city for the dwarves of Durin's Folk, but also a bit of a site of religious importance due to Durin (the dwarf the song is about) knelt down beside Lake Mirrormere and saw in the reflection, above his head, seven stars. Durin was also the first of the Seven Fathers of the Dwarves to wake up, hence, "He woke and walked alone".

I agree on Colm. I've never heard a human voice able to make so many different notes and characters. It took me several videos to conclude he was real and not applying effects to his voice.

I have to agree 100%. CdP are just superb. There honestly is only one song (Lament for Boromir) that i do not enjoy their rendition. There I prefere Karliene's rendition, because she arranged it exactly how I always imagined it when reading the book/s.

Your face said it all! Tolkien was an amazing writer. He started out in life editing a section of the Oxford English Dictionary. The bass voices gave the song the depth it needed; after all, Dwarves were found in the mountain deep.

The sorrow hits harder in this version than in Clamavi's rendition. And that's the lot of the dwarves. They're dying out as a race, though in my head canon, there's hope for them yet.

Colm's tone is dark XD. The space is like a hallway in schools. IT is kinda how some people make overtones and you can kinda hear some of those overtones on some notes. (i am not a singing expert even tho i have done it kinda as a job) (Also as a Tenor by others and bass by others idk what i am anymore XD) (vocal range is A0 (i was on some wierd stuff) to A7) it do be like that. I Love your content and always come to watch you. Colms Zombie cover is also class
