I have owned two of these little Remington Derringer clones. The first was the .22 WMR and the second was a .22 LR Cobra. The Davis worked perfectly every time. The Cobra had an impossible trigger pull. After much frustration with the little gun, I disassembled it and put a drop of oil on the firing mechanism. It has worked perfectly ever since.

I had several of these back in the 90's when Davis made them. I had them in 22lr, 22 mag, 32 acp. My LGS sold them New for $50. Used, I got them for $20. I picked up a 9mm Cobra model in a trade a couple years ago. And I traded a bb pistol for a 25acp Davis model a while back. Bright chrome, wood grips. Nice shape. I have more in the box of bullets I got for it than I do the gun lmao. They are cheap guns. But I've never had one malfunction or break. Always remember to put the hammer on half cock before you open or close it up. And don't dry fire these. I've actually carried these as a back up to my main gun and even just by themselves. They truly are a last ditch, get off of me weapon. Point blank head shot guns. Years ago, I ran over one of my cats when I was pulling into my drive way. It broke it's back, was still alive. I dispatched it with one shot from a 22 lr Davis derringer I had in my truck. So yeah, I recon they do serve a purpose and will do the job-if you do.

I have the original .38 spl. Davis Industries Derriger firearm (bought in '89) with the additional Cobra 9mm barrel that l recently purchased. I am very comfortable with this firearm as a close quarter self-defense firearm. If you pull/push down (not pull in) on the trigger, you will have no trouble in firing the Cobra or Davis firearm. It is my understanding that Cobra obtained the tooling from Davis.

My Cobra 38 is a hide out back up very close up surprise gun if I can't get to my Baby Glock 40SW for some reason. After you put 50 rounds through it the trigger pull gets lighter and not bad. I carry it in one of my many jean jackets and vests front pocket where your cigarettes would go. There is no outline of the Derringer to be seen. Plus it looks like the old Remington 41 rimfire from the western movies. I'd never pay for what Bond Arms asks for their Derringers and they are too big and heavy.

@@CRSFirearms I'm seeing people on EBay are asking over $200 for used Davis derringers! That is outrages! Blows my mind. I got these guns for $50 New and $20-$25 used back in the middle 90's. Just crazy!

I've got the small frame Cobra in nickel 22LR and a 22 mag barrel for it too, bought after market elk horn grip inlays and a inside the pocket holster to personalize and sexy it up....absolutely love mine. Can hide it on my person anywhere comfortably, I use it as a back up CC at times but mostly it's just fun to have. Shooting the 22LR is cheap, it's decent shooting to about 8'-10' max with about no recoil in 22LR or 22mag but lots of noise. Very simple to switch the barrels out...for what it is and the price it's better than carrying no pistol and it's fun to mess around with. It's not meant to be a great self defense gun or some fast shooting target pistol...it's a hideaway last resort pistol that does just that.

I am in a state that has no open carry, so conceal-ability is everything. I carry a 38 special revolver or LCP 380 for daily carry. My wife has always hated guns until recently. She fell in love with the classic look of the Derringer series when we went to our local shop. Needless to say, she just asked for one for a Christmas present. She looked at the 5 round 22lr by North America Arms and Big Bore 9mm by I think it was Cobra. She likes both.

check out the kahr p380.. its same size as your LCP but it's more accurate, handles recoil better, trigger is smoother, and imo looks cooler.

I carry a cobra 22LR derringer. I only carry it when I’m wearing something that won’t conceal my regular carry weapon which is a Glock 31, which is a standard frame Glock. An example would be, when I’m wearing dress pants for church or business meeting and I just slide that little derringer in any pocket and it light and little enough not to print. The plus about the hard trigger pull, is that you don’t have to worry about it firing inside your pocket...with the sliding bar lock and hard trigger pull, the discharge is very intentional. I’m looking for maybe a 38 in the same gun, now.

"The trigger pull is 20#" - yes, definitely - and then some. If you put your finger on the end of the trigger and make a downward pulling motion, then the trigger pull is tolerable. But that motion isn't a natural motion. It requires practice to convince your finger to do that. If you just pull straight back, the pull is going to be a lot closer to 50#. Use makes the trigger better. I'm not against the Cobras. They are a neat little gun. They are a niche gun. I actually like them. But that trigger design was thought up by a lawyer who never fired a gun, if you know what I mean. When you put your second finger on the trigger, you made your first finger move in that downward motion, so it wasn't because of the strength of two fingers. They work, and as I said, I like them particularly for deep cover. Just don't dry fire them. Any rimfire is adversely affected for one thing, and while dry firing a quality centerfire weapon doesn't cause issues, the Cobra will sustain peened firing pin holes. The firing pin will then stick in the "out" position and the next time you close the barrel it will press on the primer. I haven't heard of one firing just by closing the barrel, but I have seen firing pin indents on unfired cartridges. Not something that brings out my calm demeanor. If anyone does dry fire this gun, then it would be good to always check that the firing pins were properly retracted. Or just replace them with new components and avoid dry firing them at all (use snap caps).

Cobra Derringer Big Bore .380 ACP was the one i was just looking at and was considering gettting an after market trigger kit for it.As a boot gun.Something as a last resort carry gun.I would also choose something like the 6round you were holding up that was basically the same size. But this would be something you could stash in a boot and pull it out if needed and all else fails in a close situation!lol

I have the .38, thankfully I took it in on trade and have no $ into it. It's the biggest chunk of crap I have ever owned. Anyone looking at the Codra derringer, new or used, you"ll have constant misfire issues, plus, since they are out of business now. Dont expect any warranty or the availability of parts. If you do decide to purchase this brand, inspect it carefully. It they say they have never had misfires, they are lying. The selector set up on this, as stated in the video, is a terrible design. Used... not more than 50 bucks, dont spend the money on a new one if you find one. A wrist rocket is more reliable

Maybe I just needed more practice but yeah I would totally have to shoulder the weapon
