From Montevideo, by bus we arrived in Colonia del Sacramento (in Spanish: Colonia del Sacramento)
A small city in southwestern Uruguay, located on the Rio de la Plata, opposite the coast of the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires. The city has a population of 26,231 and is the capital of the Colony department. It was founded in 1680 by Portuguese colonists and is the oldest city in Uruguay. Its old part is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
A nice leisurely afternoon walk before we board the ferry to Buenos Aires.
