Colonial Street becomes Wisteria Lane

Colonial Street and Circle drive on the Universal Studios Hollywood Backlot, in 1996 and again in 2007, before and after it becomes Wisteria Lane featured in Desperate Housewives

i get goosebumps because to me those backlots are somewhat magic places, and i get many memories from movies that i like a lot shot at such backlots.

Colonial Lane was also where the Cleavers moved to in the third season of Leave it to Beaver. When they became a Universal show. That's when I believe they "moved" to 211 Pine

I didn't cut the Colonial Mansion, I was only 9 and so Dad filmed the 1996 footage ;) When we returned 11 years later I was responsible for all the Wisteria Lane footage so hopefully that bit is faultless

now it's the most beautiful street ever - I would kill to be able to live there (wait a second - wouldn't this make me perfectly fit there?!) XD

They also used it for Murder She Wrote, Matlock, Psycho, Ghost Whisperer, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Parks and Recreation, and several music videos including Dilemma by Nelly and Kelly Rowland.

At least Universal left a couple of the old houses there instead of doing what they did with the Andy Griffith Show set and turning the whole 40 Acres Backlot into a stupid parking lot.

@Moionfire I know, but like.. from Brazil to USA is a very long and expensive trip. And I'm just 15. Well, it's kinda hard now, but I hope in the future I can visit it. =)

+Tommy Sands Gremlins was at Warner Bros. LW and CV were next door to each other at the Warner Ranch.

Barry Goldsbury Parts of the movie was shot at Warner Bros, other parts, like the opening shot of Kingston Falls (aka Courthouse Square), was shot at Universal

The original Beaver House facade was moved to a remote location on the studio backlot and is in a state of ruin. This new house, which is advertised as the Beaver house on the tour looks very similar, but was only used for the Beaver movie....not the series featuring the original cast. Such a shame the older one wasn't fixed up and left on this street.

has anyone but me ever noticed that there are 5 house,s on wisteria lane that do not have wisteria ! bree, susan, edie, gabby, and katherin( at times is dose ?) wierd ? i actually think brees house would look beautiful with it on the front pourch.
